'Voight is there an update on Upton?',
Jay asked talking about the fact that Upton was testifying against a gang leader in court. Voight nodded his head,
'she just finished testifying and will be leaving the court in about 30 minutes',
Voight said before walking into his office, Jay quickly stood up and grabbed his jacket, I looked at him slightly confused,
'where are you going?',
I asked him wondering if I should also be going with him or not, he nodded his head at me,
'I've got to be there to protect her',
Jay said in response, I tried to hide my annoyance. I quickly got up and softly smiled at him before walking away from him and walking towards the locker room. I could hear that Jay was following me,
'where are you going?',
Jay asked me as he saw me walking to my locker and grabbing my jacket,
'I'm going home or I'm going to a bar or maybe I'll go down to platt and asked for a few more shifts on patrol or something',
I said to him, he looked at me extremely confused,
'why?',
Jay asked, I shook my head at him,
'you know not everyone has someone that is constantly there to protect them',
I said wanting to get the conversation over with, Jay looked at me somewhat hurt,
'y/n what on earth are you taking y/n?',
Jay asked, I shook my head at him,
'Jay, when I needed you most you weren't there. I needed someone there to protect me and you knew that; the moment Hailey needs you there you drop everything and run. She is your partner at work I get that but I am your actual partner so does that explain it enough for you'.
