Andrew and I decide to hold off telling anyone about the baby until after my doctor's appointment which Andrew insisted on being at so he's on his way to Chicago now.

After I showed up at his house and dropped the baby bomb on him I stayed the night and took a rental car home the following day. We didn't have sex that night even though it had been awhile. I think Andrew was still in shock and processing everything so sex was probably the last thing on his mind. I'm hoping that's not the case tonight because these pregnancy hormones have me all hot and bothered and I really, really want to jump his bones.

Andrew gets to my house about an hour before my appointment. I open the door and expect a kiss from him but all he does is kiss my forehead.

"Sorry it took longer than it should have but there was an accident on I-94."

I close the door behind him.

"That's okay. We still have an hour before we have to be there."

He sets his overnight bag down and steps closer to me. He moves the hair out of my face and the light touch of his finger on my check and neck send heat racing throughout my body. Damn hormones.

"How are you feeling? How's the morning sickness?"

"I don't know who had the bright idea to call it morning sickness because that's not even close to being accurate considering I get sick all day and night."

"Is the medicine your doctor gave you for the nausea helping at all?"

"It does help a little as far as keeping me from feeling nauseous constantly but it does nothing for the actual vomiting part."

He cups the side of my face.

"I'm sorry. I wish there was something I could do. Hopefully the OB will have something that will help."

"I hope so."

At the doctors office we don't have to wait too long. I'm on the exam room table in my gown and Andrew is pacing back and forth.

"Are you nervous?" I try and hide my smile but I can't. He's too cute all worked up like he is now.

He stops and looks at me.

"Maybe a little." He gives me a shy smile in return. "You?"

"Maybe a little."

Just then the doctor walks in and introduces himself to Andrew.

"I'm Doctor Braxton. You must be dad?"

Andrew let's out a small laugh of suprise at being called dad as he reaches out and shakes the doctors hand.

"I'm Andrew. It's good to meet you."

"Abigal, it's good to see you. Congratulations. How are you feeling?"

"Still in shock if I'm being honest."

"That's understandable."

"I've been having a lot of nausea and vomiting for a couple of weeks now. My regular doctor gave me something and it's helping some with the constant nausea but I'm still getting sick quite often."

"Okay, I have some other things we can try. We'll discuss them after the exam. Would you like to see your baby?"

I look over at Andrew and he looks so scared I feel bad for him.

"Yes we would."

He puts gel on my stomach and runs the wand over it until suddenly we hear the unmistakable sound of a heartbeat. Then there's a picture of what I'm assuming is our baby. Right now it looks like a tiny little blob with little arms and legs sticking off of it but I'm sure one day it will be cute. Right? I look over at Andrew who's holding my hand and staring at the monitor. His eyes look shiny and he has a small smile on his face. When I squeeze his hand he looks down at me and his smile gets even bigger as he squeezes my hand back.
