It's the big weekend, Abigail is finally moving in with me. She hired professional movers to pack all her things up and drive them down to Cincinnati. Her and her belongings arrive on Friday afternoon and it's the first time I've seen her in a person in a few of weeks. She had a lot to do to get everything taken care before the move. I've been busy with work, as usual, and dealing with my family drama, which I need to talk to Abby about as soon as we have her settled.
She gets out of her car and I can't help but stare. She looks absolutely beautiful. Pregnancy glow apparently is a real thing and her baby bump has definitely grown.
She catches me just looking at her and she self-consciously tucks her hair behind her ear as she ducks her head.
"I must look a mess, it was a rough drive and little olive has been sitting on my bladder since halfway through Indiana."
"You look beautiful." I pull her into my arms and kiss her like I've been dying to do for weeks. Just then the guys all come out of the house to help with unloading Abby's things.
"You two act like you haven't seen each other in weeks or something." Oliver says as he walks by a hits me on the back.
I pull back from Abigal. "It's good to see you." I reach down and touch her stomach. "And little olive. How are you feeling?"
"Tired. And in desperate need of a bathroom."
"Well go on inside. Emma and Lily are ready to redecorate the entire house with your things and Millie and Kate are ready to drink and supervise. You can just sit back, relax and yell orders from the couch. I got you your favorite ice cream, it's in the freezer."
She reaches up and kisses me. "Thank you. You're the best!"
We spend the entire weekend rearranging my house to incorporate Abbys things, that way it feels like her home too. Our friends are a tremendous help and it's good for Abby to be able to spend time with them. By Sunday afternoon all the heavy lifting is done and Abby and I are finally able to sit and enjoy each other's company.
"Any ideas on what we should do with the nursery." Abigail's laying with her head in my lap as we watch an old movie we've both seen a dozen times. She rolls over so she can look up at me instead of the TV. Once she's settled I rest my hand on her stomach and she places her hand on top of mine.
"Since we decided on not finding out the sex of the baby I think we should go with something neutral that will work for a boy or girl. I would love to have black and white photos in there and keep it simple but cozy."
"You're the artist so I'll let you take the lead. We can start shopping for things next weekend if you feel up to it."
"That sounds perfect."
I take my free hand and absently play with her hair.
"What's going on with you? You've been unusually quiet this weekend."
I stop staring blankly ahead and look down to see her looking at me.
"I talked to my dad."
She quickly sits up and faces me on the couch.
"What? When?"
"I finally gave in and called him on Wednesday. I wanted to wait to talk about in person. I haven't even told Noah yet. I'm still trying to process it all."
"Andrew, I know that had to of been hard for you. How did it go?"
"It started out very awkward. He told me how happy he was that I decided to give him a chance and he asked me about my work and friends. He asked if I was seeing anyone special so I told him about you. I didn't tell him about the baby yet. I asked him how he's feeling and about what type of cancer he has. By the end of the conversation things were a little less awkward but not much."
"How is he doing?"
"He has pancreatic cancer and he's not doing well. He's about to start one last cycle of chemotherapy to try and buy him a little more time but they said he only has about six months to a year depending on what the chemo does for him."
"I'm so sorry Andrew." She cups the side of my face. "Can I ask why you decided to call him? "
"I guess the idea of becoming a dad myself made me want to get answers. I can't imagine ever walking away from our baby and I haven't even met them yet. I just want to look my dad in eye and ask him how he could do it. I want to make sure that I don't ever become like him and to do that I need to actually get to know him."
"Hey, I dont know him at all but I can tell you with absolute certainty that you are nothing like him. When I found out I was pregnant the thought of you not wanting to be involved in our baby's life never even crossed my mind. You are the most caring, generous and loving man I've ever met. Our baby is so lucky to have you as a dad."
I pull her against me. "Thank you for that." She smiles just as I pull her in for a kiss. It starts out sweet but quickly turns heated and within minutes we're both completely naked.
I'm seated on the couch and she's standing in front of me. She's breathtaking. I place both my hands on her stomach and lightly kiss her bump, our little olive.
"You're beautiful."
She smiles down at me and then she straddles me on the couch. Its been weeks and there's no need for foreplay, were both more than ready. She lowers herself on me and her heat and wetness are enough to drive me crazy. I let her set the pace and take control. Her breast have gotten bigger and they've became more sensitive. She throws her head back when I take one of her nipples into my mouth and it quickly turns into a hard little bead. As I move onto the other one her hips move faster and I know she's close. I kiss my way up her neck and then wrap her hair around my fist as I pull her in for a kiss. I feel her reach down between us and I know she's rubbing her clit. I feel her start to tighten around me and with that I know I can let go and we both come together. We don't pull apart as we both swallow the screams and groans of the other. Afterwards, we're both breathless and neither of us make any effort to move until I eventually stand up with her still wrapped around me. I carry her into my room, correction, our room and then into our bathroom. I set her down so I can turn on the water in the shower.
"Ready for round two?"
She looks up at me with a big smile.
"Always."
