I got a small room. A guest room so I couldn't stay here forever, but it was fine for now. I had unpacked a little bit and decided to take a shower. Finally a shower with warm water instead of cold. I turned my back to the mirror, the wounds were bloody and swollen. The burning sensation was dreadful.

I didn't shower too warm, it wouldn't help for the pain. Some groans escaped from my lips as the soap touched the raw flesh.
I dressed up again, and headed for the mess hall. I am starving. I am not an amazing cook, but I am able to cook a couple of things. I felt someone behind me, close to me and hold my hips loosely. "What are you doing?" I blushed a little while turning my head to see Dino.

"May I?"

I stepped aside and watched him cook. "Are you okay?" He asked. "Yeah, I am fine."
"Wish you were better at lying," he said, mocking a bit. "Do I really that bad?" I asked. "You're a bit pale," he said. I sighed, "I have felt better, but it's okay," I said. He nodded, accepting my answer. "I have been thinking about what you told me. You want to keep it separated and I know should have professional bond..." he trailed off.

I looked down, "but I have seen the condition you are living in and how they treat you. So, if you want to talk to me I am always willing to listen," Dino said. I smiled, it's sweet that he offers it and I am also relieved.

((Dino's P.O.V))
I smiled, I couldn't hold it back either. She's a good employee and she's sweet. So, I don't understand why people would be mean to her. Sometimes it feels like, she can't really express herself which frustrated her.
I gave her a plate with food I cooked for her and sat with her. She was quiet throughout dinner, I guess she's just really hungry.

As she was finished she spoke up: "it was delicious, you're a good cook."
I laughed a bit while leaning back. "I know!"  I teased. She giggled, but still didn't look better. She sighed and got up, "I am tired... so, I am going to bed."
I nodded and got up as well, embracing her briefly. "Goodnight."

She smiled and walked off. Later that night, I decided to check up on her. I slowly opened the door and perked outside. Her back was turned towards the door. She didn't wear a shirt or bra and as I had a closer look, I spotted blood on her back.
Softly I shut the door and moved towards her. She whimpered a little as I removed the quilt from her back just a little more. "Dino... what are you doing?" She whimpered softly. I felt my stomach twist. Slowly she shifted a little and looked over her shoulder.

"They did that to you?"
She nodded sadly. I now fully understand why she had been so upset. She's in pain. I wrapped my arm around her and nuzzled in her neck. She tensed a little before she relaxed and allowed me to show her some affection. I know how much a gesture of affection can mean and she definitely needed it right now.

"Wait here..."

I got up and excited the room only to return with Ratchet. Skye was a little anxious as Ratchet switched on the light and told her to lay on her stomach. He injected her and cleaned up the wounds. She relaxed eventually and waited for Ratchet to be done. "Be careful with soap and take these painkillers twice a day but make sure there's six hours between them... I want to see you in about three days to make sure it doesn't get infected..."

Skye nodded and left us alone. I sat down on the edge and rubbed her scalp. "Dino..." I hummed and stared into her dull blue eyes. "What am I supposed to do?"
I flashed her a weak smile and laid besides her. "For now... nothing. "Just try to get some sleep, alright?" She nodded and shut her eyes I stayed with her till she was asleep and got up. I didn't want to give her the feeling she's alone.

The next morning, I caught up with her. She looked a little better than the previous day. I guess the painkillers are working perfectly fine. She smiled at me and I am so glad she was smiling. I really missed seeing her smile.
She walked up to me some closer and hugged me. Carefully, I wrapped my arms around her and allowed her to hug me because I know she needed it. "Grazie..." she whispered. I smiled at that and pressed a kiss on the side of her head. "Your welcome, signora..."

She completely relaxed and leaned into my chest. The mental image of someone hitting her not only angered me but also saddened me because she's so sweet and carrying.
She stepped back and placed her hands on her hips. "Training?"

I shook my head. "Not with these injuries, Skye." Het face saddened a little, "shooting practice?" She tried. I admired her strength and spirit, she's a feisty femme when she needs to be on. "Alright, come on."
She followed me but was quiet as if she was lost in a chain of thoughts. I know how badly she wanted to keep work and private life separated. It made me feel bad to know she failed at trying. On the contrary, she didn't seem to be bothered that much by it.

The distraction helped to get her in a better mood and I loved to see her smile and laugh. It's all I ever need in my life. I ran my hand through my hair. She still has a lot to learn and she's a little impulsive sometimes, but she has the spirit and wants to learn. She tiredly seated behind the desk after our shooting practice. She gets better at it, even she still thinks that's not the case.

Hopefully the wounds heal soon so we continue our combat training as well and maybe I'll take her to my next mission.
