"I want the money fully guaranteed up front right away." The man said with no emotion whatsoever.
"Hahaha you gotta be kidding me. Why in the world would I do that?" Kreese's office was small and quite frankly cramped but the two continued their bidding war.
"Listen Kreese, either pay me or I leave, I could care less about you're stupid dojo. I have better things to be doing back in Brooklyn."
"No, no, you won't do that. You know why? You need me. You need this money I'm offering. Otherwise you'll slowly watch you're dear old mom slip into the arms of death as you're barely able to keep up her bills working at Walmart."
The man slams the table. "Kreese!" He takes a step back and sits down back on his chair. Taking a deep breath, "Fine, just a little upfront while each win in the tournament is an incentive pay."
"I could do that. You know while every check goes to your mom in Brooklyn, I still don't understand why you can't spend a little on yourself."
"I do, but she needs it more than me, she's given me everything."
"Aw how sweet of you." The man crinkled his nose in disgust and anger. "I respect Mr. Ashford really I do, coming down to the valley while you're mom is on the brink of death and you just want her to be happy in her last moments is quite a noble act indeed." Kreese smiled in his crooked manner.
The men shook hands as the 17 year old boy with dark hair exited the office.
"Hey kid." The kid looked back at Kreese. "You're working for me now don't forget that, you're winning me that tournament, I'm paying good money for you.""Tell me Kreese, if I don't, it sounds like you're about to threaten me."
"Haha ah kid welcome to Cobra Kai!"

*RING*
The bell rang as students of West Valley High scrambled to their respective classes. Sam met up with Miguel in the hall and flirtatiously slapped his arm and they gave each other a cute glare. Sam entered her classroom, she has chemistry for the current period.
"Okay everybody find a seat, as we know the 2nd quarter is ending in a couple of days just before Christmas break." Mr. Palmer announced. "That being said make sure you all study up for your final, I have posted a study guide on google classroom."
His words slowly faded out of her head as she looked over and saw a boy clearly her age but could've passed for a little older into the class. He was wearing black joggers and a hoodie. His hair done in a nice comb over. Dark brown, they made eye contact almost immediately before he quickly looked around the rest of the room.
"Oh Mr. Ashford, how could I have forgotten, Class, this is Marik Ashford. He will be joining West Valley High this year. Marik, why don't you tell us something about yourself." Mr. Palmer said sitting back down in his chair cleaning his glasses.
"I don't think O.J Simpson did it." Marik let out a blunt statement.
"Alright, Mr. Ashford go find a spot." The class giggled as they were not expecting that from him.
"Hey cutie come sit by us!" Sam looked over at her lab partner, Moon, a little confused but didn't think much of it as she rolled her eyes at her.
Marik grunted under his breath as he pretty much had no other choice as all the other stations were filled. Grudgingly he sat down by Moon opposite side of Sam. "Hey I'm Moon and this is Sam, where are you from?"
"The moon."
Moon giggled, "Yea that's my name silly, but where are you from?"
"Ya I'm from the moon." Marik said sarcastically not looking at either of them. Moon slapped his thigh and giggled.
Sam rolled her eyes once again at Moon but she smiled. "Moon, I really don't think he's a talker."
"Oh please Sam—-
"Ladies quiet down, listen to the video that's about to start!" Mr. Palmer instructed. As the video neared it's end almost everybody in the class was asleep except for Sam and Marik. Sam looked at Marik through her peripheral vision to see him bored out of his mind. She really couldn't blame him.
"Hey, are you getting any of this?" Sam whispered across a passed out Moon.
"What's there not to get? Polyatomic ions are pretty straight up for me, I know them like the back of my hand." He answered not even looking at her.
"Oh yea genius then what's the formula for Dichromate?"
"C207 with a -2 charge."
Sam looked at her sheet of polyatomic ions. "Hmm not bad."
The bell rang and the students got up prepared to leave. "Remember class, study, I know you have the All Valley Tournament coming up, but put your education first."
"Ooh, Marik are you a fighter where you are from?" Sam's ears perked up as she walked behind Moon and Marik in the hallway.
"I just so happen to be." Marik responded trying to avoid bumping shoulders with anyone. It was a minor detail but Sam noticed how agile he looked just in the hallway she had no doubt that he could be a fighter.
"Which dojo are you fighting for?" Moon asked but Sam turned the corner not being able to hear Marik's response to her question. She curiously texted her father if there was a new fighter joining Myagi-Do and he responded with a "yes😁".
During Lunch later in the school day Sam sat with Miguel, Demitri, Hawk, and Moon. "So guys did you know there's a new fighter joining Myagi Do before the Tournament?" Sam mentioned which caught everybody's attention.
"No". They all simultaneously responded even Moon. This caught Sam off guard as she was sure Marik was another fighter.
Just as she was about to say something she saw Marik walking by the table. "Hey! Marik, are you excited to be joining Myagi Do?"
Marik looked confused and so did Moon. "Ha, I don't know what word you just said."
"Oh boy, never mind, wrong person." She said sighing embrassingly walking away as Marik carried on. "Moon, what dojo is he fighting for?"
"Cobra Kai."
