ASH ARROWS
Sneak a peek !

"You should fear me."

Jungkook heard the whisper of his blades as he walked behind the white-dressed woman towards the podium. Everyone in the hall silenced and broke a knee to bow to the Queen, welcoming her. The first State Caucus of the first woman in rule, it was glorious everywhere as each particle of dust and spring welcomed Her Majesty. Maybe Jungkook would have to re-birth to see something so delicate for a hundred times; this was once in a thousand years. The whole country has been waiting for the laws to be passed.

But Dara Koveski was magnificent to each bit of her, from head to toe, from skin to skin, from her heart to her mind. It was not clockwork or the way the chains around her waists were cackling as she walked across the room with her red cape of coronation dragging against the grounds. It was her.

"For you, I would cross all lines, husband."

Dara's shoulders were bare, the dress wrapped around her breast tightly until flowy at the edges that lead her to wear white pants over the chiffon top underneath her blouse. The dainty pearls were dancing as Dara walked up the stairs to her throne.

"But I would cross all bounds to sit on my throne. No one takes it from me."

Jungkook nodded, he had known of it already. But when he found himself sitting on the throne with the crown around his head, his eyes bulged to see Dara's body smudged with blood, his sword in her hands. Her wounds fresh and her anger seen, Jungkook realized he couldn't stand up from his throne. He tried to get off the throne and from the stares that the people present in the audience gave him of hollowness and darkness, but nothing came past. He shook his head, screaming when he felt a crown with spikes piercing down his head, making his head bleed. He cried out Dara's name.

But the woman colored with the wonders of blood and war stood there, watching him.

"It's your turn now. Betrayal comes in many shapes and sizes, husband."

Jungkook screamed.

"You should fear me."

Jungkook found his breath against Dara's skin, his eyes jerking awake with his body shaking loudly. He moved his face from Dara's chest and got off to see the woman sleeping beside him, warm in his bed since she had moved into the Consort's chamber after dinner last night; denying to sleep alone. Jungkook breathed and breathed until he steadied himself. The cold wind from the open window embraced his bare skin. He drank a cup of water before heading towards the balcony, replaying the visions in his head but he wanted to be calm too. Thinking of those nightmares made him sick and warry.

Dara's footsteps loudened as she walked in, grabbing a robe to hide her naked body between the cloth. She found Jungkook pacing away as she touched his shoulders, massaging the back of his head, "Bad dream, again?"

"I am used to it," Jungkook said shortly.

Dara nodded, "I can go back to your chamber if you would like to rest alone for a while."

"What?" Jungkook frowned, "No, no. It's not that. We should stick together. Besides, I am not used to big places or big beds, all this jewelry. I feel so uncomfortable wearing them...you know I could go with the plain white shirts and pants, right? I am sure you have the power to change these customs?"

"I do, but I like to see you suffer. You don't realize but you look awfully good in the white chiffon you wear to the Caucus. I would bid a high price to buy you if at a bidder's if you dressed like that for me," Dara trapped herself between him, resting against the rails of the balcony as she ran her hands down his bare chest, "We should go and spend some time alone in the Stone Palace. I remember father telling the advisors to recommend it for me and my husband's time out there. Besides, we can't go and spend time outside the country, I can't leave so soon."

"I am having pretty the honeymoon inside the chambers," Jungkook's lips tugged into a curve, a sly smile before kissing Dara's cheek, "It's been two months you married me, I am not sure you want to go for a honeymoon to the Stone Palace, what are your ambitions?"

He knew Dara too well. Her eyes told him she had other plans.

"I will tell you in the morning," Dara said, kissing Jungkook's neck, "How can we stop these dreams? Should we see you the elf in the morning? He was saying something about these dreams....it must be correlated."

"I don't know," he smelt her hair, tangling his fingers around her red hair, "You have been happy lately."

"I am," Dara smiled, "You have been a husband to me...I hated arguing with you, and I shouldn't have pushed the whole marriage on you but I didn't have a choice, Jungkook. There was so much on my plate and you were denying me, constantly pushing me away and I felt so aggressive and angry and―,"

Jungkook didn't let her finish as he pressed his lips against Dara's faded crimson ones, cupping her breast into his calm and pushing her against the rails as he kissed her. Last night's red lipstick had worn off her lips right after they touched Jungkook's bedsheets. Jungkook kissed her lips like he hadn't kissed before, like every time he kissed her, it became their first. He pulled away but the upper lips trying to reach out to each other, Dara's jaws had become tight.

"You asked me what I saw the other night...when I had those dreams about you and we talked for hours," Jungkook whispered, biting his lower lip, guilty, "I couldn't tell you...I was hesitant. I was hesitant to tell you what I had seen because I promised I wouldn't love you. And I would make your life miserable, that the misery would kill you from the inside. That I wouldn't give you my children or my heart, and I would leave you someday."

Dara stared.

"But I am sure now," Jungkook continued, "I had seen your berry red hair, and the piercing blades in your eyes, and oh, oh did I not wonder; what would I do without your berry blades?"

Berry Blades.

"Berry Blades. I am your Berry Blades," The berry red woman with the blades in her eyes smiled at her husband, running her hands across his muscles, "That's thoughtful of you, what else?"

May your blades never be berry red with her blood. May she be your Berry Blades, may you protect her like you would protect your own.

Jungkook picked her up in his arms and walked back inside the chamber as dawn greeted Zisk, starting a new day.

He will stray away from his promises. She will be left alone again.
