"You said the spirit would be displayed!" Dara argued, "And then a real spirit comes out at me, trying to get the prince killed and of course, all that just to walk into the compass. How do you reckon I call this thing out of my compass? I am totally disturbed by how it is residing on my gift."

Aevi put up a hand in front of Dara's face, trying to calm her down, "I know you are furious-you both were in grave danger, the prince is hurt but, Deborah, this is only a sign. You should find the rest of the spirits. It leads you to The Curve if you ever need it."

Dara frowned, "Why would I need that goddamn curve?"

"My dear, there is still a bunch of things that await your knowledge," Aevi said steadily as if her face was nothing but a sculpture that painted worry across the people she met eyes with, it almost made Dara feel the influence of tension that Aevi had, "Illari had secrets, she saw what most of us couldn't. She was extraordinary...and she was alive during an era that you may not have knowledge about. Yet."

"Illari was alive during...my reincarnation-,"

"Keep your voice low, girl," Aevi cut her quickly, "Most of the Outerns believe you because of what their ancestors have seen. What I have seen, the hopeful stories told by the elves. They agreed to let you in because they believed what they had seen and heard of you. Not this you. The past you. Your rebirth is not a rumor, Deborah. And you taking help from the curve to save lives from the upcoming battle will not hurt the stance of your ability."

Dara shook her head, "The elves did tell us about it. I used to be a slave. But the curve-it does not make sense. How and what connections does it have with me-,"

"It doesn't. But your compass can unlock it," Aevi informed, "It was unlocked once, a king ruled it once," Dara was reminded of the king that she dreamed of but never caught up on his features once she was awake, she nodded immediately. Aevi continued, "You may never see me once again, we are sealing the valley into the hide again. But I must advise you to see the elves, tell them about me and find your answers."

The queen watched the witch take out a purple ring, copper wrapping the bottom of the ring. She handed it to Dara, placing it on the top of her palm, "Take this to the elf. He will know it's really me that you are coming from. We loaded enough food and weapons in the carriage back to North, the Prince will heal in a few days-,"

Dara pulled the old witch into a tight hug. Aevi flinched a bit before her lips curved into a smile, wrapping her arms around Dara who had to bend a whole lot to reach the woman's height. Dara smiled her way into the breaking the embracement, "Thank you. I would love to take you with me or just stay here with you, but North is a dangerous place right now. It needs me."

Aevi gave her a broken smile, tilting her head, "You must win, Deborah. You must fight so hard, and shed so much blood, save your people and friends and hold them very tight. In the end, they are the ones who make you worthy of your crown."
