I went back to work, but couldn't get anything done, my mind still wrapped around Kurono. He's not pregnant or mated, and he's not dating any of the bullets. Maybe it's someone else. He never leaves this building unless I tell him to. So maybe some of the other members?
Why do I care?
This though hit me with realization. I had stopped my work, done research and spent all my time trying to make sense of his behavior, for what? Knowledge? I had no idea. I wasn't this obsessed with the behaviors of any one else, so why Kurono? Maybe I'll just ask him after his heat.
I took a deep breath, and started working. After a few hours of boring paper work, I set off to experiment on Eri's blood that I had taken yesterday.
I did the same thing I had done with the others. See how to make it into bullets. After hours of not getting anywhere I sighed in frustration. I was going nowhere. I new how to make them, but it was taking too long. Maybe I need to start from the beginning. Look at it like a doctor does, see its DNA structure.
I put some of the blood under a microscope and began doing my work. Her blood was relatively normal and had a bit of her quirk properties in it, which was normal and expected.
Maybe I should compare her DNA to her parents. Their DNA was already in the system, so they don't need to be alive for me to do it any time I want. I had never told anyone this, but I think the boss's daughter was cheating on her husband. Eri doesn't look like her mother or father, and while her quirk could be different because it just came out that way, it would also make sense if she had a different father she got her DNA from.
That's weird. I compared the DNA to her parents and it didn't match either of them. Was Eri adopted? When I had found out the boss's daughter gave birth to Eri, I was surprised. She was infertile, and couldn't have a baby. I assumed that it was luck or something else like that, but maybe they just adopted her. Not that there is anything wrong with adopting, but why wouldn't the boss lie about it?
