I waited for Tengai in our shared room. He was taking a bath and I needed to go over this with him.

I banged the door. "ARE YOU FINISHED! WHAT TAKES YOU SO LONG? I FINISH IN LIKE 10 MINUTES AND HAVE MORE BODY AND HAIR TO CLEAN!"

"Well, unlike you I prefer to take my time to make sure I'm actually clean. It's only been around 20 minutes. I'll be done soon."

"YOU BETTER!"

He didn't reply but I could feel him rolling his eyes at me. Not like I could see if he was rolling his eyes at me with him in front of me anyway.

After what felt like an eternity, but the stupid lazy clock said 5 minutes, Tengai came out of the bathroom.

"Took you long enough."

"Oh, do be quite. Now I assume you want to tell me something."

I loved how he just knew.

"I'm thinking of adopting a kid."

"What."

"Met this kid. Nice kid. Found her in the fights. She's trying to get enough money to move out of the orphanage and-"

"-and you told her you'll adopt her."

"Yup."

"Kendo, you're too soft. How will Overhaul feel about this?"

"I'm not sure. I wanted to know how you'd feel about it first, Hekiji."

"Do you really want a child, Kendo?"

"Yes, Hekiji, I really want her."

"Then fine. What's her name and age?"

"Karlie, she's 16."

"Well, we can adopt Karlie. But, only if Overhaul gives the go."

Challenge accepted.

                                                                         

"HEY! OVERHOE! OPEN UP!"

"What is it?" he asked coming out of his room, closings the door behind him. No one was allowed in his room. No one with the exception of Kurono.

"I want to adopt a kid."

"What?"

"Found this kid. 16 years old. Her name is Karlie. She has this quirk that turns her into a beast. I want to adopt her."

He looked down, thinking for awhile.

"Fine. Only if Kurono says you can though."

And with that he went back into his room.
