When they come for me

Maya's POV.

"Stefanos, please tell me that this is all your doing and that you're throwing your voice around." As I asked him this I realized that it couldn't possibly be him. Mostly, because that wasn't his voice I heard and he couldn't possibly close the doors from here.

"I wish it was." He whispered to me. As soon as he said that he backed away from me and reached for my hand.

"No whispering," said the voice eerily close to my ear, causing me to shiver and move closer to Stefanos, "it's very rude." The voice seemed to get farther away but I could have sworn I felt a finger trace my spine.

"Who are you!" I yelled, "What do you want!"

"I want you! Ha ha ha!" The voice cackled and then it started to laugh manically and it seemed to get closer and closer until it was almost behind me.

"You can't have her! She's mine!" Stefanos yelled, and started to pull me towards where he thought the door was. Mine? What does he mean mine? We have basically just met and he's calling me his! Clearly he must have hit his head. "Come on Maya we're almost there!" He yelled back, pulling me out of my revere.

"You can't escape." This time the voice sounded like it was infront of us.

Stefanos suddenly seemed to hyperventilate as we ran straight for the voice.

"What are you doing? We should run the other way." I shouted at him confused. Why would you continue to go straight towards the voice.

"Maya just trust me." He quickly said while barely glancing back at me.

"Ok." I said defeated. Hopefullly he had a plan.

Unfortunatly, his plan was to keep running towards where the voice was laughing. Just as I was about to question him, he took a deep breath and as he let it go fire sprung from his mouth. The flame was a beautiful orangish red color that seemed to have streaks of gold going though it.

"Ahh!" The voice screamed and as I looked ahead of us I could barely make out an outline of an arm being raised and I think I saw a glimpse of pink hair. The person turned and ran off to their left but Stefanos just kept running forward and kept spewing out flames. I barely made out the wall before it disapperead and we were in the middle a brightly lit hallway. We were breathing heavily and I barely noticed that Stefanos had stopped breathing fire like a dragon.

"Are you two okay?" Someone familiar asked. Their voice caused both me and Stefanos to jump and spin toward the person  who had just spoken. I heaved a sigh of relief when I realised it was just Mike. "What happened?" He asked the both of us as Stefanos went to lean on a wall and I lied down to get more aquainted with the floor. The two of us had started panting and we were trying to get our  breathing back to normal.

"Not...sure..." I managed to get out inbetween breaths.

"Whatever it was wanted Maya and tryed to trap us in the kitchen." Said Stefanos as soon as he got his breath back. "It was pretty prsistent too."

"What do you mean?"

"It managed to turn off the lights and cause the temperature to drop."

"Not an it." I said getting off the floor andn interuppting the question Mike was about to ask.

"What do you mean not an it?" Mike asked, walking closer to me.

"It  was a who."

"And how do you know that?" Stefanos asked very condesendingly. That only pissed me off.

"Because, you stupid fuck, I saw the outline of an arm and-"

"Oh, so just because you think you saw an arm then it's suddenly a human." Interuppted Stefanos.

"No. I know it's human because I saw a glimpse of pink hair."

"Your point is..." Mike asked. Wow they were makig me feel smart.

"You two are stupid. Who in this hell hole has pink hair?"  I asked them hoping to give dumb and dumber a hint. Unfortunatly, they both looked kind of confused. 

"Liana." Said Mike suddenly. Sadly Stefanos looked like he was just getting it.

"What reason would she have for wanting you?" Asked Stefanos.

"Hell if I know, but I'm about to ask her know." I said marching toward Liana, who I just spotted at the end of the hall.
