I had a pounding headache all throughout the day as I listened to Leah blab on through periods three and four.

For some reason her timetable had changed drastically, as I only saw her for two sessions a day instead of all six which was odd because I'm pretty sure her parents 'influenced' the school to think that putting us together was best.

So that leads me to believe that someone even more influential than the Corbies had arranged this.

My thoughts immediately went to the Blackwell brothers and their constant warnings to stay away from Leah but it was immediately squashed as I realised that even though David was the mayor, the Corbies had more money which was what it was all about.

As the bell rang to signal lunch, Leah turned to me with an apologetic look on her face.

"Hey Amy, I can't go to lunch with you..." she trailed off unsurely, as if expecting me to lose it.

"It's okay, how come?" I questioned, wanting to know why after all these years she's ditching me. She never did any extracurricular activities, and I was her only friend. Did she have to leave early?

"Um, I made some new friends and they asked me to sit with them at lunch so I said yes! Mandy Mills! Can you believe it?! The head of the cheer squad asked me to sit with her!" she squealed excitedly as a voice called her from the front of the room.

It was Mandy.

Mandy and her followers were looking at her expectantly and Leah looked at me and ushered a quick goodbye to me as she left me standing alone in the Biology room. I felt a little hole form in my heart at how easily Leah had dismissed me at the chance of finding a better group.

I hurried out of the room and put my books away in my locker, grabbing the leftover pasta from last night. After heating it up in the staff room, I went and sat outside near the football field under a willow tree and I began to eat my food in peace when I was interrupted by a voice.

"Mind if we join you Mila?" Jordan asked knowingly, almost as if he knew what happened between me and Leah.

"No, of course not, make yourselves at home."

"Thanks Mila, I want to introduce you to everyone" he said as he motioned for the group to sit down.

Six other people sat down with Jordan and he pointed to each person as he said their name, like those get to know each other activities you did in primary school. He went left to right along the circle.

"This here is Samuel Nero, awesome quarterback for our school team" grinned Jordan as he high-fived his friend.

The first guy he introduced was good looking, I must admit. He had a straight nose, high cheek bones with a squared off jaw, muddy brown eyes and his hair was pushed up into spikes on his head.
