The Phone's Ringing

I'd never thought I'd say this but hearing that come from Alex hurt, it felt as though my heart was being stepped on. Stomped on even. And I've never felt that type of an inner stinging, I was foreign to my heart being felt as if it was ripped in two. When I had left Mark, it was a relief, it didn't ache nor hurt me. It's not that I like him or anything but. I'm not sure. of course, Alex is the most amazing soul I have ever met. I think Hes one of a kind in the entire universe. We quickly brushed past that topic as we settled in the car. After that we decided to pick Brea up and go for dinner.

"Hey guys! what'd you guys do today?" Brea piped while getting in the car.

"Matt show her." I say trying not to laugh

Matt pulls up his sleeve to show Brea his new tattoo that he didn't even anticipate he was going to get.

"Oh my- WELL ITS DEFINITELY A TATTOO BUT I LOVE IT!" She beamed taking his arm to look at it closer. "Did you get something too Odette?" She looked shocked that she had even asked me that because when I had back out before.

"Actually, I did, and Alex did as well"

"NO WAY, YOU'RE BULLSHITTING ME!" She tried to examine my body with her eyes, but I stopped her and pulled off my jacket to reveal the ink on my arm and shoulder. "Holy shit Odette- that's so big... BUT FUCKING AMAZING!"

"Thanks! Remember it was the one I had sketched with my dad" she nods her head then looks over to Alex with his tattoo very visible since he's driving.

"Wow all of you got great tattoos I'm jealous, I would have gotten another if I didn't have that photo shoot," she said

"Ah it's alright we'll be going sometime soon again." Alex said Turing off the car being that we had arrived at the restaurant.

Once we got in, we sat ourselves at a table and got our drinks from the waiter.

"Al look over there?" Matt said pointing into a direction behind Alex and I which made him turn around, his eyes got big as he cleared his throat and nodded towards Matt.

I turn around to see a beautiful tall woman with defined cheek bones and shoulder length silky brown hair, she flashed her gorgeous smile as she talked with her friends. She was jaw dropping to say the least.

"Wow. I haven't seen 'er since it had happened" Alex said as he played with his ring that had been hugged around his pinkie finger.

We had then heard a woman's voice ringing with an accent.

"Alex? Matt? It has been so long hello!" She beamed flashing her white teeth. her lips were complimented by her red lipstick that had clearly stained the bridge of her cupids bow, she had piercing blue eyes with hint of green that would hit you like a train when you gazed in them for too long, don't get me wrong I love men, but God. this lady could have the world on their knees.

"Hey, Alexa, how 'ave ye been?" Alex asked as he got up and hugged her. It had then hit me. Alexa. His ex. She seemed very nice. And they didn't end on bad terms either, it was nice to finally meet her.

She replied, "I am lovely how about you?"

"I'm doing fine, this is Odette!" He gestured over to me, and I approached her.

"Hi, it's nice to meet you!" I say while going in for a hug.

"I've heard so much about you, whenever Alex and I text, he can't stop blabbing on about how great you are, which now that I've seen for myself you are so lovely!" She said while looking at me with her wide eyes.

"Oh, ha-ha well thank you" I give a warm smile. "You should pull up a chair, that is if you aren't busy"

"Oh well, why not?" She gives a small laugh and pulls a chair from one of the tables.
