Chapter 2: Grim Truth

Warfare's POV

I open eyes to only be blinded by the lights of somewhere, I cover my eyes with my arm and with my eyes adjusting, I looked around and I'm in a... hospital room? I continued looking around and I see dying flowers on the nightstand, I went to rub my head and started asking myself, what happened? The more and more I thought about it, I remembered. It was routine practice flight, then a squadron of unknown SU-37s attacked us and I followed one of them and then... D00M, he was trying to kill me, and he hit me, and I remember the plane burning and the ejection was stuck and then the jet crashed. I then heard people's voices getting closer to the room's door and then walked in Zilla, Remo, Somewhat, Peralta, Digital, Wolf, and Star. They stopped when they saw me and their mouths hung open in shock, "We need a doctor in here!" Digital yelled, they walked in and encircled my bed "Warfare?" Zilla said my name in confusion probably because he thinks he's dreaming "Yeah that's me" I said glancing to everyone, then a few doctors came in and did a check on me and when they asked me how my legs were feeling specifically my left leg, I was confused and they saw that and based on the doctors face, something bad happened "When you were rescued from the crash site, your left leg was very damaged there was no way to repair it" I held my breath cause I knew what he was going to say next.

"We had to amputate your leg" I released a shaky breathe and thanked him for telling me. Once they left there was an eerie silence in the room and I hesitantly removed the covers and saw my leg, no like my leg was still there. "Hold on, he said they amputated it, it's still here" I said to everyone "They did amputate it but that's not your actual leg, it's a prosthetic that's looks like your original leg, but it isn't" Zilla explained to me, I then realized something "So I guess I can't fly anymore" I said with sadness, "Actually you still can" Star said "You see that's prosthetic is like no other, it's a mechanical prosthetic, so that means it helps you, walk, and run, so you can still fly" Star saying that lit up my world, I thought my career was over but now I know it's not.

After a few minutes of talking about nonsense, I still had questions to ask. "So how long have I been out" I asked them, and Wolf spoke up "3 months" I blinked in surprise, I've really been out for 3 months, "Okay so uh tell me what's been going since I've been out" I asked with a smile hoping to hear good stuff, but it faded away when I saw their faces, faces of sorrow, anger, and defeat "Guys?" I said with worry, Zilla sat down beside me and began to tell what's happened "After the incident over Mt. Lambert with that unknown squadron of SU-37s and with D00M and Krigs" I stopped Zilla by holding a hand up and looked around and mentally facepalmed, I haven't even noticed that Krigs wasn't here "Soo where's Krigs?" I asked then Zilla continued "When you disappeared during the battle Krigs started to shoot at us, we asked him what he was doing but there was only silence, he didn't speak then after that I saw the enemy squadron flying away with two F-15Cs leading them, one was Krigs that's for sure but who was the other, Warfare" Zilla asked me, I took a deep breath, "Well I believe it's OBVIOUS, but it was D00M, I chased one of the SU-37s and when I lost sight of him, D00M showed up and... you can probably guess the rest" everyone's shook their heads in disappointment and betrayal, "Speaking of D00M, has anyone heard from him?" I inquired, Zilla exhaled "While you were out, D00M has started an organization called Shadow organization and they are by far the most dangerous terrorist organization earth has ever seen. A few days after you crashed, D00M hacked into the worlds broadcasting systems and announced that he was going to start a New World Order, where the world will be ruled under one flag. That's when people from all over, Belka, Yuktobania, Osea, Erusea, everywhere people joined him" Zilla explained, and I was quite frankly shocked "So people left their countries to join D00M... but why?" I asked, Zilla continued "We believe that because people left their countries to join D00M was because they disliked the way the countries are now, for example Erusea was once a republic and now it's a monarch and when D00M said he wanted to create a new world order they took that as an opportunity to leave and join him" I couldn't believe what I was hearing, all those people aren't people anymore their traitors to their countries, "H-h-how many people does he have? Why didn't the government do something about all the people leaving? Where's his base, WHERE IS HE!?" I yelled in a sudden out of nowhere rage.
