Chapter 22: Making Up and Great News

Warfare's POV

I checked the last box on the paper, and I tossed the clipboard on a cart. I sighed and looked outside the hangar and saw the summer sun beaming down on the base, I felt at peace but at the same time on edge because D00M is still out there and were sitting here doing nothing. I turned my attention towards my jet and examined it and couldn't wait to get in the air and fly to Megalith, but it seems that it won't happen for a while I suppose.

I bit the inside of my cheek and walked over to where we keep our flight suits and helmets, I picked up my helmet and saw my reflection in the visor. I exhaled and placed it back on the rack where It was, I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't even notice someone was standing in the hangar entrance when I finally noticed a figure in my peripheral vision, I looked at them quickly and saw Halsey. He stood in the hangar entrance and flung his arms from his side, "Um mind if I come inside?" he asked and I hesitantly nodded, he walked in and before reaching me he traced a hand along my F-22 which I didn't mind. "Beautiful plane" he admired it and I smirked but then his facial expression went from happy to a face of... regret?

"Warfare, would you like to join for a walk?" he asked, and I was confused but I was curious, so I agreed. Walking outside the hangar, I looked at Halsey and raised an eyebrow "I don't think you walked into our hangar just to ask me to walk with you... why did you really bring me out here" I confronted him, and he chuckled a bit "Well... I um... I brought you out here because I wanted to say I was sorry" he said and I was taken back by that, Halsey the person who has been an ass to me and my friends was saying sorry. He continued "I know what I did was very wrong and I'm sorry. You see I have a bad habit of not thinking logically so when I saw the folder with all that 'evidence' in it, I didn't stop and think I just assumed that you guys were traitors" he finished and I actually understood what he was talking about, he was nervous that we were traitors and would give all information about Tyler Island to D00M resulting in the island being destroyed and the world falling into D00M and his organizations hands. "Well, I guess all I can say is... thank you Halsey and I forgive you because I see what you mean" I said, and he nodded in understanding.

"Well now that were on good terms now, I need to know something?" I asked and he looked at me "And what may that be?" he asked, and I sighed "Is there a plan being developed to attack Megalith?" I asked and he sighed and scratched his head "Its um... difficult but were trying. The last time we did an assault on Megalith it was a disaster so were trying to come up with a plan" he said, and I was honestly disappointed.

"Commander Halsey, we are needed at the command center"

We turned and saw a Osean soldier gesturing for Halsey to follow him and Halsey looked at me and I looked at him. "See you around Warfare" he said and jogged to the command center with the soldier behind him. I stood there and wondered what was going on, but I shook the thought from my head and looked around the base and didn't see one thing I could be doing right now. I decided to walk to the barracks and take a nap, on the way there I noticed that there were C-17s and C-130s landing in rows, it was an odd sight that so many are showing up but whatever I don't really care right now, I just wanted to sleep. Placing a hand on the barrack door I was going to open it wide, but I stopped and wondered if any of my friends were in there, so I cautiously opened the door slowly and peaked a head inside. At first, I didn't see anyone but as I looked to the left of the room I saw Zilla and Laura cuddling while they were sleeping, I swear I had to double take on that like 5 times before I understood what I was seeing. I opened the door wider about to walk in and wake them, but I stopped myself instead I quietly walked back outside the barrack but before I closed the door, I picked up a sign that Peralta had made as a joke. It said 'DO NOT ENTER' then below it said 'seriously' I took the sign and closed the door quietly and placed the sign on the door.
