Hi, I am sure you know my mom Dr Lindsey Moffit. She is after all a world-renowned physicist. Me oh I'm her average daughter Samera ( but much to moms disdain I prefer Sam). My mom oh she is often at conventions with all the smart people talking about really smart things and how they are all a league above the rest of the world. Me ..... I am just as average as they get, my mom is convinced I am a genius like her but honestly, I find most of those things boring and monotonous.

My mom wanted me to be a linguist and tried to get me to go to some fancy private school so I would know all these languages I barely passed Latin and failed the other three languages I was supposed to get a jump on in that semester, but I was kicked out (for other reasons) and am now stuck going on some big brain tour. She was so angry with me she got a bunch of textbooks took my cell phone (like I have anyone to talk to anyways but no more fan fiction) and told me they (the textbooks) were going to be my new best friends.

Right now, she is attending some fancy dinner where she is accepting some award. Because I complained once about putting on a dress I get the great opportunity to sit here in the hall and listen to them all laugh at some joke while I'm stuck reading some theory book about radiation.

I feel my stomach growl and realize I'm hungry we were supposed to get food before this but because me being the big brain I am I tried to negotiate with the ice queen. In the end I missed dinner because I  got another full on lecture about how conducting ones self and how it reflects on the people around you.

I hear a door open and look up hoping Mom wanted to leave early to get back to her work like usual but realize in disappointment it is some nerdy looking guy and that he came from outside. He looks really familiar but can't place him. He is wearing a suit like all the others, but looks a little lost.

"HI" I say in my usual awkward tone.

"Oh Hi," he says looking around uncertain. "You wouldn't by chance know where I can find Dr Lindsey Moffits do you." he pauses " What am I saying you probably don't know."

He turns to walk away when I say a little too loud mind you " in the assembly hall but she is probably coming out soon she received her award and if she hasn't found some guy she wants to impress she is going to be leaving here in just a minute to get back to her work."

"Oh" he says looking  a little confused "so how are you connected to Dr. Moffits?" he says curiously studying me.

I open my mouth to respond when mom walks out "she is my daughter" Mom says in her usual self-important tone. "Samera go wait in the lobby while me and Dr. Banner have a talk." I guess he is her target to impress for tonight.

I walk down the hall to the ornate lobby and sit down in a chair. I decide I better start reading or I will be given another reading assignment. As I start to read again Mom walks in with Dr. Banner (as she called him in the hall) right behind he looks really concerned and not sure of himself (even more so than before) and starts studying me in a way that makes me feel like they just where talking about me.

"Samera darling" she pauses this is normaly a sign she is going to say something particularly important and wants me to pay close attention. "Samera this is Dr. Bruce Banner and he is your father. He..."

I know she is still talking but I don't hear any of it. My father mom refused to talk about it for years and now here without warning she just introduces me to him. I look to Dr. Banner and see he is watching me with concerned eyes. I start to feel a little lightheaded and feel myself sway a little when did I even stand up? I start looking around for my chair. He swiftly walks over to me seeming to realize what is going on in my mind and leads me back to a chair. I take some big breaths and start to feel myself come back to normal.
