POV Samera

I wake up at 5:30 Feeling exhausted I think about going back to sleep but the early hours are my most sacred time of the day. Mom doesn't get up until 6:30 at the earliest. As I get out of bed the events of yesterday start to come back to me. I realize I didn't say goodbye and wonder if I really will see Dr Banner again.

Honestly, I am excited to get to know the father I never had but I know he is scholarly like mom, so he is probably wanting to hold me to a higher standard. Maybe he won't though I decide to get dressed and pack a bag with my clothes, my secret sketch book, and my mp3. I know I am way behind the times, but it is how I listen to all the "not acceptable music" Mom would be appalled by.

I put on a gray shirt with some black pants "acceptable attire" I then put on my plain white tennies (a constantly debated topic around here) and go downstairs to see if I can find something worthwhile to eat. I find a croissant and decide that a plain croissant is good enough for me. I sit munching on it when Mom walks into the room.

"What are you doing in those clothes" She gives her I'm disappointed face "I thought you would want to make a good impression. I guess you truly are the disappointment you are constantly proving yourself to be."

I know I shouldn't take what she says to heart but I can't help but feel hurt by her words. She is after all my mother.

"are you even listening to me?" she must have said something I missed "I want you sitting in the living room with a book in the next thirty seconds, GO!" I scurry off to find one of the books she told me to read this summer.

I find some book about physics and sit on the couch ready for a long boring read. I look to the clock its only 6:15 I wonder when they are coming.

Next think I know I hear the doorbell ring and mom saying something to me. I must have fallen asleep as I open my eyes I notice some of the pages are smashed into bad shape. I hurry and try to press them out.

"What have you done to my Feynman Lectures on Physics" I look up to see a horrified look on Moms face and a chuckle from Dr Banner. Wait he is here again I sit stunned thinking he wouldn't really show up, after all who wants a worthless daughter.

While Mom is still fussing over the book Dr Banner says, "Did you pack?" I nod "well go get your bags so we can get out of your mothers' hair." That comment seems to take some of the anger out of Moms sails for some reason. I don't want to hear what could come next, so I scamper off to grab my bag of clothes and my summer reading backpack. I look around my room wondering if there is anything else I want to take with me. who knows when I will be here next.

I start to head back down when I'm halfway down the stairs when I hear them talking I'm curious so I pause "she starts school again in August so if you could just keep her for June and July that would be sufficient and then you wouldn't have to deal with her after that." Mom says.

"I think between me and my girlfriend we can handle that."

"She is more of a handful than you think. She probably put up a nice show for you yesterday. She has been kicked out of every summer program I have sent her to for the last four years. If she was well behaved I wouldn't of had to burden you with her existence."

I can see that Dr Banner is upset but he keeps his cool. "only time will tell." Is he trying to defend me? He doesn't even know me.

I decide I better make an entrance, or I will get scolded, so I back up two steps and then rush down the stairs. "Sorry I took so long."

"Well don't mean to be a downer but I need to go so let's all head out." Mom says clearly not wanting her agenda to get ruined.

As we walk outside, I see Nat from yesterday. I follow Dr Banner over to the car. He grabs my bag and puts it in the trunk while Nat grabs the door for me. Before I am able to get in the car Mom walks over "this is my email if you could just send me a quick one I will send you her daily agenda and what rules we have identified as needed over the years." Mom says handing a card to Dr Banner.

I watch as mom clicks over to her car gets in and quickly pulls out of the driveway not even giving me a second glance my heart falls a little. I shouldn't expect more but here I am doing it again. I notice Dr Banner looking at me like he wants to say something so I quickly hop in the back seat and close the door.

I turn to watch my house pull out of view I haven't spent much time there over the last three years, but it still is a special place to me. I probably won't see it again until fall break if Mom can help it.

"Did you have breakfast yet?"

"Oh, not really." Not sure how to respond. "So, you live with your girlfriend?"

Dr Banner smiles "that is a complicated question, I live with the rest of the team so technically yes but not like how you think."

A little confused now I decide to try to ask a different subject "so do you live in L.A.?"

He looks at me with a confused look "no we live in New York." He pauses looking at me like he is expecting me to understand. "We just finished the compound upstate." Like that helped me understand.

We stay silent for the rest of the ride Dr Banner pulls out a phone and starts texting someone. I sit trying to decipher what he said.

As we pull up to the same gated house as yesterday I start to get even more confused. I thought this was Tony Stark's place. We pull up and I grab my bags and follow Dr Banner inside. As we walk inside I notice the redhead from yesterday cooking in the kitchen and some teenager sitting on the counter they both stop and look at us.

"Welcome, Its Samera right? I'm Pepper Potts but you can just call me Pepper. It is so nice to meet you I hope you guys are okay with pancakes"

The other guy looks to me curiously. "Yep thats me" I say in a small voice. What are we doing at Tony Stark's house. I guess Dr. Banner and him are good friends but I didn't think that good.

Dr Banner walks over and he gives me a look like he is trying to read me. Natasha then gives him a look and he turns to me. "So this is Peter"

The kid gives me an awkward wave. Wow he is almost as awkward as I am. He jumps down and walks over to me "Hi I'm Peter but I guess he just said that so I didn't need to say that... or that" He says with a smile and then an awkward pause "can I help you put your bags in your room?"

They have a room for me? I guess I need to sleep somewhere but this is surprising for some reason. "oh I've got them I can handle a few bags" I didn't mean to sound rude but it comes out that way typical me! ug why do i have to be so annoying!

"oh okay. So we were going to go to La Brea tar pits I have been dying to go there for years. You wanna come with us?"

Right then a guy in a black outfit walks in carrying a bow of all things "Hey, Nat, sorry to interrupt but we need you, Stark, and Banner." He turns to Peter "not this time kid"

As if he didnt say anything Nat says"Clint can I introduce you to Samera. She is Bruce's Daughter she is going to be staying with us for a while"

"HI" he turns to say something to Natasha when he turns back. "How old are you?"

"Fifteen" He looks relieved as if I just told him I in fact am not holding a bomb. I am so confused by the whole interaction when it hits me.
