Chapter 4: The Encounter

As soon as my last class was over, i received a text from Karen.

"Hey babe I got my dress today! Elena helped me choose, you're gonna love it when you see me in it! On my way now, I'll be there in 20! 😘"

I quickly replied and sat at a bench near a vending machine in front of a parking lot. Karen said 20 minutes but by the timeeee she gets ready, she really means 40. I had 40 minutes to just sit here and watch trees and cars drive out. This happened everytime she's home, even though I obviously have my own car, she still want to do me the favor of driving me, which was really cute btw! But still, I hate waiting.

Minutes went by and I caught myself just staring at cars who were leaving the parking lot, looking at the people inside for no reason at all. I thought about getting some Hot Cheetos from the vending machine but I really didn't have the energy.

*BEEP BEEP*

I glanced up, not aware that i had fell asleep, and saw that my fiancé had FINALLY arrived. "Hurry come on!"

I gathered my things and got in the passenger seat and gave my honey a big kiss. "So about that dress... *wink wink*" she laughed and started blushing.

"I already told you you have to wait! Like you said, the big day will be here before you know it, so just chill. But tell me all about your day! How was your classes?"

"They were okay, same as every other day. Just sitting in helping with questions the students have."

"Sounds pretty boring, when will you get your own class?"

"I talked to my boss and she said a class in the science department will be opening up when the semester is over, so by fall I'll have my own class!

"That's good babe im happy for you!"

"Thank you it took a lot of waiting! Let's go home and get ourselves ready i made reservations for us tonight."

Her face quickly lit up and her brown eyes began to sparkle. So cute! "Aww where are we going?"

"It's a suprise! Just get all cute how you do and we'll be on our way."

We pulled up in our driveway and hurried into the shower. I let Karen choose my outfit, so I had no choice but to go in a skin-tight black dress with a heart-shaped neckline. And as for my queen, she wore a red sundress with surprisingly high black heels and a touch of makeup. We gave ourselves some time to take selfies together and post them on IG and Twitter before we headed out.

Arriving at Mirragio Grande just in time, we took our seats and studied our menus. The place was really beautiful! It was dimly lit with chandeliers hovering over every table. There were fish tanks all along the walls, the really nice kind with lights and everything! There was even a water fountain in the far corner, next to the pianist who left his station for a break.

"This place is so nice! You always go out your way for me, thank you so much you really are the best!" Karen had the brightest smile on her face, she blew me a kiss then held my hand and began looking at her menu again.

"My queen deserves royalty of course! You're very welcome babe just enjoy yourself."

The waiter came and took our order, then brought us glasses of wine. "Fancy," I thought.

"So tomorrow, right after your last class we are going straight to the dress boutique, Elena will be waiting for you there and I'll leave you two to business while I wait for you to be finished."

"Sounds like a plan! Is there anything in specific you'd wanna see me in, besides nothing? *wink wink*" we laughed, trying not to spit our wine out and embarrass ourselves in front of our waiter who was bringing our dinner.

"Stop playing this is serious! You get whatever you look beautiful in, I'll love it either way." She laughed and took another sip.

"Okay but at LEAST tell me if you want it to be like a mermaid dress or princess dress or-" I was disturbed by a tight hug from behind that literally left me breathless.

"Hi, Ms.Lorena! What a suprise seeing you here!"

I turned my head and wasn't quite shocked at all to see who was in my presence. Aaliyah.

"Uh, hey! Yeah, I came to bring my fiancé out to dinner." Karen and her glared at each other and I didn't understand why. Aaliyah's smile faded when she heard fiancé.

"Oh, that's nice." She said, looking at Karen. "Well, you look really lovely tonight, nice bumping into you! See you tomorrow?"

"Yup, see you tomorrow! Take care!" And she walked away smiling.

"There's something about that girl that's so familiar." said Karen.

"Yeah, she's kind of weird though. Like, always following me type of weird. Idk, probably just a coincidence."

We finished our dinner, left a tip then headed home.
