I made my way over to Aaliyah's house right after leaving Karen at home. She really believed that i was going to school to prepare for tomorrow, pshhh, who prepares for class anymore?

She was standing in the porch waiting for me, a mug in one hand and the other was tucked away in the pocket of her pink robe. Her hair was messily braided to the side, bits and pieces of hair sticking out of every loosely tied twist. The evening sun really complemented her skin complection. I was completely amazed by her view. She walked towards my car as I stepped out and she kissed me on the cheek. I went ahead and kissed her on the lips right after then she cracked a smile.

When we got inside there wasn't much talking before she was standing naked in front of me. She gave me a few kisses before leading me to the bedroom and laying me down on the bed. Soon enough we were both under the covers not being able to take our hands off of one another.

The next few months went as so: I'd spend a few days at Aaliyah's house every time Karen was out of town. We'd drive to school on weekdays, ever since I started teaching i go to campus at 12 instead of 8. She'd have me all to herself in the mornings then she'd leave to school and I'd go home to clean up and call Karen before her shoots. I always felt guilt everytime I'd dial her number knowing I was with aaliyah just a few hours before, sometimes I'd stutter a little and she'd ask what's wrong but I'd just brush it off and say I love her. But in all honesty I wasn't sure how I felt anymore. Aaliyah and I talk everyday, im with her whenever Karen isn't around and im really starting to get used to her. I love having her around because she fills the empty void that Karen leave in me when she's gone. The fact that she's only home 3 days of the weeks really gets to me, sometimes she comes home one day to leave the next morning. It's just really stressful and lonely without her, but that's when aaliyah comes in.

My wedding is in 3 months. I was already having cold feet and wasn't sure if i still wanted to go through with it. It felt like I was sort of forcing myself to love Karen just so I don't break her heart, even though I still did love her it wasn't the same as it's always been. She was coming home this afternoon so I was at home watching tv waiting for her to call and say she was getting on the plane. It would be a short hour flight because she was only in Atlanta doing a launch party shoot for a new tequila coming out in a day or two. It was pretty huge because every market nationwide would start selling it and Karen was super excited about being on the advertisements for it. Anyways, I sat and waited for her call.

I woke up a while later to her call and made my way to the airport. Same gate, and same seat as every other time. I felt like I spent more time in this seat waiting for her than actually being with her. But that's the usual, it's whatever. She came out after a few long moments then came running towards me with excitement bursting out of her. I still thought it was adorable when she was like that.

"How was the flight baby? I missed you!"

"Oh, my, God you are not gonna believe everything I've done these few days they were so amazing! Here look I have my portfolio for you to look at i did three photo shoots just for the tequila!" She handed me the manila folder then threw herself on me with a hug. My heart got all warm and mushy so I smiled and hugged her tighter.

"Tell me all about it in the car babe we going out to lunch!" So we left the airport and went to a nice pizzeria downtown.

We sat at our table and she started talking about her whole trip to Atlanta and the photo shoot and how they got to test the tequila at the launch party and how she's happy to be home and how she has to leave in 3 days and she's going to Key West blah blah blah. Same old conversations we have everytime she gets back. It's getting kind of boring.

"That sounds great babe, you wanna order now?" She sort of got the hint that she was talking to much. We ordered three different kinds of flatbread 12 inch pizza slices and shared them when they arrived at our table.

"So like how is your teaching?" I knew she wasn't really into the conversation so I just nodded my head and said its been good so far. Same old same old. The atmosphere got kind of tense between us and there was a long awkward silence while we ate. I finally decided to break the silence by complementing her hair, because I knew she'd love that. She smiled and her cheeks lit up.

"So we get married in three months arent you excited?!" Her smile grew bigger and my heart couldn't help but melt. "Yes of course im excited!" I said, not making eye contact. I wondered if the whole being apart and traveling and distance thing ever bothered her like it did to me. Not a day went by that I didn't either miss Karen or regret what im doing because I miss her, sometimes both crossed my mind and i just couldn't do it. I'd melt down in anger and regret, but also lonelyness because I just wanted a normal relationship, and I still do. "You ready to leave babe?" She nodded her left then we went home.

The next morning I made Karen breakfast in bed with a cute note on the side before I left to class. I sat in my office eating lunch and watching funny vines before my evening class began. Aaliyah had sent me a message to meet up with her in the food court like half an hour ago but I wasn't really in the mood. I thought about texting back and saying im on my way but I figured she'd still be there so I might as well go. It was like a 8 minute walk from my office to the food court, why would they do that to us teachers?

When I got there i sat at an empty table and looked around to see if I saw aaliyah before I texted her saying im here. In the far corner I saw her, her hair up in a neat bun and her reading glasses on. She had on a pink tanktop and black tights with her legs crossed one over another. Just as I was gonna get up to sit with her i see her lean in for a hug from someone sitting next to her. The face was really familiar, it was the friend she introduced me to the night I was at her house, Messiah. Didn't he say he didn't go here anymore? That's he's only here to catch up with the coaches? I kept staring for a little longer then I was completely shocked to see HIM kiss HER. Wtf!? I thought they were bestfriends! I thought she loved me! Why the fuck would she let a boy kiss her! Isn't she gay wtf!? I had a million thoughts running through my mind but overall I was furious. I wanted to get up, walk right up to them and slap him in the face. How dare he do this to us!?

Moments later he left and I thought about going to her, so I did. She saw me coming towards her and instantly smiled.
"Hey Lorena." She leaned in for a kiss but I quickly backed up.
"Um, don't you dare put your lips on me after you just let messiah kiss you! How could you Aaliyah!"

She stared at me with a blank face then acted suprised and confused. "What do you mean!? Me and him are just friends! He has a girlfriend! Please let me explain babe."

"No save the bullshit. I don't wanna hear it." I turned to walk away then she grabbed me by my arm. "Let go of me!"

"No Lorena, listen to me!" Her voice got higher but she sounded so damn sexy when she was mad. "Look me in the eyes. Whether you want to believe it or not, im into you. Trust me when I tell you that he was planning on how to make the first move on this girl he likes. She's gonna be at his party this Saturday. He actually wanted me to invite you." I didn't know whether or not to give in and believe her but I can't be mad. They were REALLY close so I definitely believed it was just like a bestfriends thing or something. I gave in.

"Well okay I guess.. What's this about a party?"

"He's just having a party just to have one, no serious occasion. You coming? It's Saturday night at 8." That's a perfect time, I thought to myself. Karen will be in Key West by that time, and I don't have plans that night except for missing Karen. I might as well go a so I can get my mind off of things for a while.

"Yeah sure, I'll be there." I sat down next to her and we talked for the next half an hour until it was time for us to go to class together.

At home, my fiancé and I spent the evening watching Project Almanac and Grown Ups 2 while we made eachother some healthy salads and sandwiches. We put the first movie in while we prepared our food and by the time I put the second one in she had fell fast asleep in my arms. I let her stay there and fell asleep as well and she woke up with sort of a backache cause of it so I gave her a quick nice massage before I left. The next three days before Karen left again went pretty much the same, I spent as much time with her as I could while she was here.

It was Saturday morning now and I was waking up in Aaliyah's bed once again.
