Selene dumped her backpack on the bed, collapsing in exhaustion. She munched on the bread and apples the L'manbergians had given her, reminiscing about what Tommy, the blonde boy had told her.

As he walked her through the gates while leading her horse, he explained the fortified walls and the security measures on the entrance. Apparently, L'manberg was in the middle of a huge war for independence, and needed more manpower and supplies. The 'Dream' dude Tommy had spoken about earlier was the leader of the country (Tommy called it a server but she assumed it meant the same thing) who refused to give them independence and was power-hungry, a control freak, a tyrant and a 'green prick' as Tommy liked to call him. He was hoping that Selene would join them in the war, as he believed that she would be a great asset. Selene told him she would think about it, but in truth, she wasn't keen on joining a war to fight against people she barely knew about. It was better not to be involved. But still, guilt coursed through her veins as she remembered the look of crushing disappointment on his face when she didn't necessarily agree. He had told her he was 16, along with another member of the country, a boy named Tubbo, Tommy's best friend.

They were simply children. Selene couldn't imagine they were already involved in a war at their age. She felt a sense of duty to protect them, but the logical side of her brain disagreed, and encouraged her to stick to her original plan and leave immediately the next morning. Tommy had also told her about Dream's goons, especially the 'Dream Team', which consisted of Dream, Sapnap and George, two of Dream's closest allies and friends.

As they had made their way deeper into L'manberg, they had arrived at a caravan with a confusing flaming hot dog on its roof. A fireplace lay next to it, surrounded by a group of people. Tommy introduced her to each of them. There was Wilbur, the leader of L'manberg, Fundy, a hybrid fox-man, Tubbo, a cheerful boy, Eret, a mysterious man in a cape and a crown, and Niki, a goddess-like lady with flowing golden tresses. They were all welcoming and friendly to Selene, and her heart felt warm and happy. She hadn't experienced that type of feeling in a long time.

Niki, being the only woman in L'manberg, had kindly offered Selene a spare bedroom at the back of her bakery, which is where she was now. Selene didn't want to go, but at the same time the enemy, this Dream man, seemed terrifying from all the stories they told her about him. She shivered, hoping she would never meet him. But that all came down to her decision in the choice they gave her. Selene sighed, and decided to clear her mind. She took a long, refreshing shower and dressed in a simple white woollen sweater along with a pair of black leggings. She slipped on a pair of silver slippers and headed out of the bakery. She brought Moonbeam to the stables, fed her a well-deserved apple and let her wolves roam free around the safe grounds of L'manberg. Nightfire and Fernfield were sleeping in her bedroom.

She decided to take a stroll around the place and explore a bit. But as she wandered near the back entrance, three figures caught her eye, standing on top of the walls. She froze in her spot for a few seconds, before dashing back to her bedroom, out of breath and panicked. She peered out of her window, seeing the three figures yet again. Two of them didn't seem to notice her, but the one in the middle looked at her dead in the eyes, a white smiley-face quartz mask masking his face. Dream. Unable to make out his expression, she stood frozen yet again, overcome by fear and dread. Finally, after what felt like centuries, he turned away and walked into the forest surrounding L'manberg, followed by the other two figures.

As moonlight broke through the clouds and cast its light onto them, Selene was able to make out some distinct features in the other two figures. The one on the right wore a white bandana and clutched a flint-and-steel, while the one on the left sported white-rimmed sunglasses, reaching up to adjust them while keeping a tight grip on a loaded crossbow. Dream wielded an enchanted netherite sword like hers, his dirty blonde hair gleaming in the moonlight. The Dream Team retreated into the dark forest, disappearing from view like shadows in the night.

Rubbing her eyes, Selene decided that it was high time to go to sleep. She snuggled in the cozy cotton covers and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of a certain blonde man with emerald green eyes.

Selene catches sight of Dream! This is just a filler chapter. There will be more action and excitement in the next one!
