TW: Blood
Back in L'manberg, the country was in a frenzy. Wilbur had seen the note from Selene, and she still wasn't back. He travelled to the underground dungeons to collect George for his public execution, only to see that he was long gone, and the cell was broken open. He sprinted back to the caravan, but her note was gone. There were no traces of intruders, save the silhouette of a blonde-haired man wearing a gold chain. At that time, Wilbur had assumed it was merely Tommy, performing some of his late-night shenanigans. But now that he had thought about it, didn't Tommy say he was going to sleep early?
The guards at the front gate were knocked out, and in place of them was Dream and... George? His green eyes flicked towards Wilbur, knowing that he had seen them. At a single motion of his hand, George placed down a single piece of TNT, and was currently aiming a bow and a flaming arrow at it, threatening to detonate the dynamite. As if on cue, Fundy, Niki, Tubbo and Tommy all walked out of their houses, rubbing their eyes, still heavy with sleep. They immediately regained their alertness when they saw the enemy at the gates, and stood by Wilbur to face them.
"Gentlemen," Wilbur started cautiously, "what is the meaning of this?"
Dream stared at him with an evil glint in his eyes, one that everyone could see behind his mask. "We have taken your best fighter hostage, and we have freed George. If you do not surrender now, I will blow up this piece of TNT."
"Selene?" Tubbo and Tommy spoke worriedly in unison.
"You green bastard, what did you do to her? I swear she better be unhurt or I'll-" Tommy raged while Tubbo tried to calm him down, desperately clutching Tommy by his arm, attempting to cover the blonde's mouth while tears threatened to spill out of his eyes.
Wilbur raised an eyebrow. "What can one piece of TNT do? We will never surrender to your tyranny, Dream. We would rather die than give up our independence!" the rest of L'manberg cheered behind him.
Dream shrugged. "Have it your way. I have nothing to lose." George fired the arrow, and the TNT glowed several times, getting ready to detonate.
"Stand back, men," said Wilbur. "Don't let this injure you."
Their enemies were a good distance away when the dynamite exploded.
Along with hundreds more laced underground.
Screams of panic and fright filled the air as everyone scrambled for the nearby lake, holding the knowledge that the detonating bombs couldn't deal damage in water. The dust cleared shortly after, revealing huge craters scattered around their land, and the Dream SMP all bearing malicious smirks. Wilbur coughed, looking around for any injuries on the others. Thankfully, they had all gotten out fairly unharmed, save a few cuts and bruises, and Fundy's bleeding nose.
Dream strode menacingly towards Wilbur, matching his height yet managing to loom over him. "You better surrender soon..." Dream's sadistic grin grew wider. "We have a few more tricks up our sleeves, and soon enough you'll all be dead before your pathetic little revolution can rise." he gave the leader of L'manberg one more threatening smirk before sauntering off to his men. All of a sudden, he paused and turned around.
"For the sake of your friend... Selene, I recommend you give in as soon as possible." his smirk turned into a hungry-like Cheshire grin. "I have many ways in mind to use her to our benefits." and with that, Dream left Wilbur standing speechless and fuming with rage at his enemy's utmost indecency and the audacity he had to say that.
Tommy jogged towards Wilbur.
"What did he say, Wil?"
Knowing the outcome of telling Tommy Dream's threats in detail would end badly, Wilbur just shook his head and gave him a weak smile.
"Nothing much, just telling us to surrender."
"But we'll never do that! Won't we, Wil?" Tommy punched his fist in the air, managing to be cheerful and energetic even after his home was blown up.
"No, Tommy, we won't."
The boy grinned at his leader and ran off to his best friend, yelling at him and waving his hands in the air.
It was rejuvenating for Wilbur to see children be happy even during a war. However, his smile dropped the moment Tommy turned away. He ran his hands through his fluffy, brown hair, frustrated and worried.
Selene.
Wilbur gazed skywards at the setting sun, his head full of thoughts and emotions running rampant.
He hoped they'd be able to get her back soon.
Wilbur and Selene's relationship is strictly platonic, there is nothing romantic between them. They are like father and daughter.
