Chapter 4 I'm scared

I was brought back to reality when he grabbed my hand. I turned my head to see that familiar smile of his. "We gotta get to our rooms before it gets crowded" Rodrick whined. Before I got to say anything, he kept hold of my hand and jolted up from the couch and through the campers. We made it to the 2 doors, one for the girls and the others for boys. Like I said before the rooms were weirdly cabins. "That was so unnecessary" I groaned catching my breath from the sprinting I got forced into. Rodrick laughed "come on, what if we had to wait in line?" "What, line Rodrick? There's literally like 8 campers in a cabin!" I questioned. Rodrick  laughed adorably "meet me out here once you're ready" he softly said ignoring my question with a sweet smile. Rodrick boop-ed my nose and we went our separate ways.

I could feel my face get red from what just transpired. I had on a smile that I thought nobody would notice. while walking into the cabin straight to my friends I spotted across the rooms. Gabby and Samantha were  getting ready while looking in a mirror that reminded me of what actress would have with light around it. "Somebody's in a good mood" Gabby teased when she spotted me while looking in the mirror. Before I could respond Gabby and Samantha interrupted with squealing "Tell us everything!" I laughed "So basically told me that he wants our relationship to be serious and that he wanted me to be his." I smiled. I got a warm feeling just saying what happened out loud. Samantha squealed shaking me "OH MY GOD MADDIE YESSS I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!" "ME TOO" Gabbie joined. We all  had a group hug giggling.

I stepped out of my room ready too meet back with Rodrick. I had my favorite white shirt on the was a little tight but cute and grey sweats. Also I had fuzzy socks on. I hope my hair isn't greasy. I practically bathed in perfume so I should smell good. Before I processed what was happening Rodrick jumped out from behind a big plant and tackled me to the ground. We both started laughing so hard. He was on top of me. Within a second I started kissing him. I rolled on top of him. We still had our lips locked. We broke apart both to gasp for air. "Wow", Rodrick said smiling looking up at me, "I should tackle you more often." I giggled "Yeah, you should make it a new hobby" We're still cackling on top of each other on the floor while, I heard Wendy say "It hasn't even been a full 2 hours of you two getting together and you're are already on the floor" I moved off of Rodrick and looked up at Wendy. She had her hand on her hip with a disappointed look on her face but I knew she was joking. "So you heard" I said  rubbing my neck. "Word gets around fast" Wendy replied. I knew I looked embarrassed. "Hi Wendy" Rodrick waved at Wendy while still laying on the floor. "Hi Rodrick" I snorted trying to hold back my laughter. Wendy rolled her eyes. Wendy continued "You two better tone it down or none of us are gonna survive tonight" She turned around and walked back to the safe room. "Now Maddie", Rodrick teased with a disappointed tone, "why would you do that? Very unprofessional" I hate you I replied laughing so hard.

Rodrick and I entered the Safe room holding hands swinging them. "Wait", Rodrick paused his walking. "They have a ps4" he sounded like he was about to explode with excitement. I laughed "Are you serious?" He grabbed my wrist again and sprinted "LETS GO" Rodricks yells. We made it across the room to the ps4 with bean bag chairs. "We cannot keep on running like psychopaths" I whined "This was a life or death situation Maddie" he informed me while turning it on.  I didn't feel like replying this time. Rodrick turned around and looked at me and gave me a hug. He smells so good and he's so warms. Rodrick looked down at me "is it ok if we play on here a little" he asked softly "I put my arms around his neck. "Yeah, of course" I smiled. He returned a smile back. We broke apart and he handed me a controller. "What are we gonna play" I asked "Wanna play call of duty?" He replied. "Sure"

"He's coming behind you on the left, don't use the sniper if he comes near you" Rodrick directed to me. "Got it, I see him!" I said trying to focus on the game. "andddddd BOOM GOT HIM" I cheered. "YES WE WON!" Rodrick joined. I stood up still excited "I told you I'm amazing" I laughed. "Hmmm I don't know about that" Rodrick smirked still sitting on the bean bag next to me. I plopped back in my seat. "Say it" I said. "Huh"?, "Say I'm amazing" I demanded. "Nah" He said. I kept pushing "Say it" "nope" he said. I gave him the look. "Aaaa-maaat, A man, Aaaa Maze" Rodrick kept teasing me. Rolling my eyes suddenly Wendy started an announcement "Campers, the pizza is ready please calmly get up and get paper plates for pizza, hop in line and one by one get 1 slice of pizza for now and a choice of drink" "why does she act like we're 10? I asked Rodrick. He laughed "she'll never stop" we walk to the short line to get the food"

After everyone finished eating I met my friends on the couches I first sat on when we came to the safe room for the first time. Rodrick is with me this time. It's was nice, just talking with them. It's was starting to get late. My eyes were starting to get heavy. A loud bang crashed above us. The light cut out. The room filled with gasps and a couple dramatic screams. The noise sounded like a whip. Probably thunder. I jumped. "Holy shit" Rodrick said. Rodrick saw how scared I got. "Are you ok?" He asked. "Yeah",I whimpered. "I'm scared", I think he could tell. Rodrick grabbed my hand. He looked up at me "you're shaking" I could tell he started to worry about me, his face filled with concern. Rodrick scooted me on his lap and wrapped his arms around me. He stroked my hair. I love him so much but I know it's too soon to say it. Another crash occurred. He held me tighter and I buried my face in his neck. The thunder was so loud the school was shaking. Gabby who was sitting on another couch near me asked "Maddie, are you ok?!" I looked at her still hugging Rodrick. "Yeah I'm ok, I just had really bad experiences with storms like these" I replied. Should I be embarrassed with how scared I'm getting? The thunder kept getting worse and the wind started getting bad too. "Everything is ok guys, remember we're safe in here" Wendy announced trying to comforting us. "We all should try to get some sleep, if you can't I understand you can talk but please be considerate and keep your voices down so others can sleep" Wendy said. "Let's get up for a sec, The couch is a pull out" Rodrick said standing up. He quickly took the pillows of the couch and lifted the bed out. I grabbed a blanket I brought with me from my room. Rodrick and I laid down and spread out the blanket. I'm a little nervous sleeping next to him for the first time. We clung together tightly. "Thank you for everything" I said looking into his eyes smiling. He returned the smile "Of course" We started kissing for a little but we fell asleep or at least I did.
