The Final Dance pt 2

"Rodrick" I tapped his shoulder. I had to reach using my tippy toes. He's so tall. He turned around and smiled. A song that was slow turned on almost like it was purposely picked. Without asking Rodrick gently came close, put his hands around me pulling me in. I put my arms around his neck. I was surrounded by his familiar sent mixed with Cologne. I was distracted by his soft hair that I always adored and looking into his gentle brown eyes when Rodrick said something. "Sorry What" I said blinking to reality focusing on the dancing again. "I asked if you liked this song" Rodrick repeated "Yeah, I love songs slow like these. "What about you?" I asked. "Yep, it's pretty good" he said smiling "Did I every tell you how much I love you're smile" I asked. He laughed. "Thanks nobody ever told me that before" I put my hand on his cheek "I'm glad I did then" I said full heartedly. He put his hand on mine and looked in my eyes. He leaned in and kissed me with passion. I kissed him back. Moments like these I know I'll never forget. Everyone around us vanished and it was just Rodrick and I.

The slow song ended. Gabby and Samantha came up to Rodrick and I. "Can we steal her for a little" Gabby asked Rodrick "Sure" he said letting go of me. "I'll see you in a little" Rodrick told me, kissed me on my forehead, and smiled goodbye. Gabby and Samantha dragged me away. We thought you needed a little break, he seemed like he was suffocating you Samantha said jokingly. I laughed.

The rest of the night was all three of us having fun and dancing. I'm really happy right now and I don't want things to change. I realized I really don't want to leave camp and how this is our last full day together. I pushed my negative thoughts aside. "I'm gonna go check in on Rodrick" I said to the girls. "Where is he?" Gabby asked looking around. I looked too. "I don't see him" I said confused "Let ask Tyler" Samantha said. She found Tyler, one of Rodricks friends. "Do you know where Rodrick went" Samantha asked Tyler tapping his shoulder "uh, I think he went in the hallway, I saw him go there a bit ago, no idea what for" Tyler said pointing to the other side of the big room. The hallway was so randomly connected, like a different dimension or something. "Thanks" I told Tyler. I looked at Gabby and Samantha a little worried. Why would he go in the hallway and why for so long? I headed across the ball room. I have a bad feeling about this. I started down the hall way. My heels click with every step I take. I saw two figures. I couldn't tell who they were or what they were doing. I kept walking closer. I think it's a girl and a guy. Are they kissing? Why does that guy look so familiar? I got closer. My heart stopped. Then it dropped. That's Rodrick and Veronica making out.

All that could come out of me was a gasp. I guess it was loud enough for Rodricks lips to leave Veronicas. He looked in my eyes and I felt so much pain. Tears ran down my face. I got chills turned around and tried to walk as fast as I could l. "Maddie, wait please it's not what you think" I Ignored Rodrick. I can't even look at him. Everything played out in slow motion. I finished down the hallway across the big ball room. I made it to the exit where Gabby and Samantha were. They took one look at me and knew right away what happened. Rodrick came Running behind me, still calling out. Gabby put her arm around me and walked me out the room by my side. I glanced back and saw Rodrick still trying to follow me. Samantha swung her fist punching him square in the face. There was a crowd watching and you heard the "ohhh" from the campers as if knowing how much it hurt. We fled the scene and Samantha caught up with Gabby and I. We got to our cabin finally and I'm sobbing. "I'm never good enough, I fucking hate that piece of shit" I whaled angrily through my tears. "What happened" Gabby calmly asked sitting me down on one of the bottom beds of a bed bunk. "He" I felt more tears coming down "He was full on making out with Veronica" I could see on Gabby and Samantha's faces they didn't know what to say. "I should beat the shit out of both of them" Samantha angrily. "I thought he love me" I whispered tears still flowing. "Oh Maddie" Gabby said so sadly and hugged me. I just kept sobbing. I couldn't stop. The thought of his lips on someone else's feels like a knife in my chest. The thought of her hands touching him ,his soft hair, and her lips on his made me want to vomit. I feel like I can't breathe. "Samantha do you have any I could use to get my anger out?" I asked whipping my tears away. "Actually yeah" Samantha smiled and got up and grabbed a bat from under her bed. She handed it to me. "Thanks" I tried my best to smile. I climbed out of the cabin window and started hitting the closet tree with the bat. I lost my shit.

I woke up to Wendy shaking me gently awake. Memories of yesterday flooded back and I never wanted to go back to sleep so much before. "We need to talk" Wendy softly murmured. I rubbed my eyes and climbed down the ladder of my bunk bed. Following Wendy out in the hall I see the cabin is completely empty.Wendy started her long speech "So, the COVID charts literally skyrocketed from only the past two days. It is very very important to take precaution so when you go home you won't risk giving Covid-19 to your family. I've been informed with all the drama that happened yesterday. Because of Samantha physically punching Rodrick we had to ask him if he wanted the camp staff, his parents, and the police department to deal with The whole incident but he insisted of keeping this quiet. We, the camp staff are aware that you two are or were a close couple. Mostly from the PDA. The camp staff decided to tell both of your parents because of taking precautionary's for Covid" Wendy pause, "You know because of the kissing" Wendy asked. I closed my eyes and nodded. She continued "Anyway everybody needs to quarantine for 2 full weeks or 14 day so We all agreed that the best solution instead of both of you quarantining alone, is for you both to do it together." "WHAT??!" I choked "no no no that's not happening" I exploded. Wendy seemed inpatient. "Yes, you have too. You're parents already have everything in order and think your mature enough. Their words not mine"Wendy confirmed. "Whatever" I growled. "Anyway Where is everybody?" I asked. Wendy rubbed her neck "They all ready left" she said. I could tell she knew this was going to make me even more upset. "Are you kidding me?!" I gasped"Maddie, I'm sorry they had earlier busses and plans changed" Wendy said apologetically. "You should pack up, your buss will be here in 20 minutes" she murmured. I walked back into the cabin trying to hold back my tears. What the hell?! I started packing and saw a couple of notes taped to the mirror on the dresser. The notes were from Samantha and Gabby. They wrote me letters apologizing for leaving and wrote down both their numbers,snap,emails, and Instagrams. I'm so glad they did. I let my tears fall.
