I woke up to Wendy's voice. I couldn't make out the words. I finally understood what was happening when Gabby shook me "Maddie, get you're things we're leaving" "What?!" I opened my eyes. "Wendy wants us to grab our things and put them in our cabins before breakfast" Gabby said. "This early?" I moaned trying to wrap my blanket up and grab the rest of my things. "Wait, where's Rodrick?!" I asked Gabby. "Jake woke the guys up earlier, Rodrick didn't want to wake you up" Gabby said with a grin. I smiled to myself. He's such a good boyfriend.

I was walking into the Cafeteria with Gabby, Samantha, and the rest of the girls after dropping our overnight bags in our cabin. Gabby, Samantha, and I joined a big table that Rodrick and some of our other guy friends were sitting. "Good morning" Rodrick said with a mouth full of toast. "Good morning" I grinned and ruffled his messy hair. "You could've woke me up when you had to leave this morning to help you," I said. "Nooo it's fine, I didn't have a lot of things with me anyway." He reassured me then chugged his orange juice. I replied with a smile. "So I heard Wendy has a big announcement this morning, anyone know what it's about?" Gabby asked the table. Tyler, a friend of Samantha said "I heard about one but I don't know what it's about. I heard Jake talk to Wendy about it. Seemed kinda serious" Samantha replied "That's not good"

After everyone finished eating breakfast Wendy started the "big serious announcement" ,supposedly. "Unfortunately because of how bad the weather is playing out, the head Camp Counselor made an agreement with all of your parents to end camp early" Wendy sadly announced. What! Why is this even happening. The cafeteria filled with gasps, moans, and chatter. Wendy continued "The agreement was to make tomorrow the Dance party in stead of this weekend, If this is your first time coming to camp, the dance party would always be held on the last full day of camp you'd have with us. It's like a prom but less fancy.**So the day after tomorrow is the day you'll be leaving camp." My heart sank. Once again the cafe got filled with cries and chatter. "What?!" I asked frantically looking at my friends around me. "I don't want to leave you guys" Gabby said sadly. Samantha looked like she was about to cry. We started group hugging. The guys around us were obviously uncomfortable with what to do when girls are upset but I think they were sad too. Wait, I looked at Rodrick. My heart was full of pain. Rodrick looked so sad. We were going to be split apart. I hugged him so tight. I started crying. "No, don't cry" he said gently lifting my face up. His eyes started to water. He was speechless, I could tell he felt pain too. "Its gonna be ok" He said. "Is it" I asked more tears rolling down my face. "I'm not going to loose you, ok? Rodrick said again. I'll make sure we'll find each other. "Rodrick, you live in Massachusetts and I live in Pennsylvania how is this going to work?!" I said angrily. His face filled with hurt and I could see I started to piss him off. Before he could say anything I hurry apologized. "I'm so sorry, I'm just scared. I shouldn't be taking this out on you" He looked at me and took a deep breath. Closed his eyes and hugged me, "it's ok" I'm sobbing now. There's many reasons why I'm so attached to him. Rodrick took care of me and was there for me when I had a panic attack. It was always changing living with Anxiety but nobody ever cared for me like he did. He's someone so special. Now he's getting ripped away from me. Nicole interrupted the dramatic scene that was being played out "Um, Wendy, why? The storms over,What's so dangerous that we need to leave?" Nicole was right. Wendy took a deep breath trying to ignore Nicole's bitchy attitude "The storms damage from yesterday was incredible horrific, and in a few days multiple storms like that are planned to happen but worse, that's why we need to get you kids home fast or otherwise you'd all have to stay at camp trapped longer then expecting to keep safe. There are serious warnings saying to keep inside. Trust me guy not to scare you but this is really the safest choice. Not to mention COVID-19 charts are starting to grow way more then expected"(Fact)
**the dance party would always be held on the last final camp days you'd have with us. It's like a prom but less fancy.** - This is a real camp event that I experienced. It would happen on your last few days of camp. You'd even dress up
