Rodrick Book 1

Chapter 2, Oh no

Rodrick stood in the doorway. Is this really happening? "are you crazy!?" I angrily snapped at Rodrick. "Shhhh" he whispered. Rodrick stepped in and closed the door behind him. I was about to explode and he knew it so before I could say anything He put his hand over my mouth. "You can't  be loud, I tried to find a place to hide so I could skip going to the lake but a councilor saw me. I was being chased" Rodrick whispered pleading with me. I rolled my eyes and grabbed his hand to take it off my face. "That's not my issue" I growled. Rodrick ignored my remark and looked me up and down instead. A small grin grew on his face. "Why are you looking at me like that" I asked. "Oh nothing" Rodrick smirked. I looked up and met his eyes. Uh oh, something in me snapped. I can feel my face flush. What's happening to me!? I felt this strong connection with Rodrick all of a sudden. We stood their speechless. At the exact
same time we connected to each other like magnets.
In a flash Rodrick put both his hands around my waiste, His soft lips were on mine. I was so close to him that I could smell his rich Cologne. My head was sounding the Alarms. I don't like him I repeated in my head, I can't fall for someone like Rodrick but that thought melted fast when I noticed his features up close. I liked his soft wild brown hair and his brown eyes. I really could stare into them forever. I pulled away. We both were trying to catch our breath. After a good 30 seconds of us catching our breath. He stood up straight and with a big grin asked "so, you like me now, right?" "Nope", I replied with as much confidence as I could muster "I still hate you" I counted"oh really" Rodrick teases and steps closer in my face and whispers "I'm gonna change that real fast" I whisper stepping closer "Try me" Rodrick gentle leans in and once again we're wrapped in each other's arms, kissing.

We lasted like that for a couple minutes but then we had to stop and go to the lake. We both run down the hill in the back of the school where the lake is. We met up with the group and Wendy and Jake looked pissed. Why did it take you so long to grab your swimsuit Maddie? Wendy questioned in a angry tone. Before I could say anything Wendy cuts me off and asks "Why are you with her Rodrick"?!  " I guess I got lost on the way to the bathroom, yep and I saw Maddie in the hallway and asked for directions" Rodrick said Confused. He's such a bad liar. Jake scolded "This better not happen again guys, we can get in serious trouble if we can't find you" we both nodded. I could see some of the girls looking at me with wide eyes and smiles. One of the guys came up to Rodrick and gave him a fist bump. I looked up at Rodrick gave him a small smile and a small wave while I walked over to the girls in the front of the line. The group followed behind Wendy and Jake to the lake.

"So tell us what happened" Abby giggled. A couple of us were dipping our toes at the doc of the lake. Others were swimming or playing catch on the shore. It was like free time. I tucked my hair behind my ear. "Nothing" I said God this is pathetic. Is this really what I have become. "Maddieeeeee" Abby whines. I take a deep breath "I was in our room changing and he was at the door and I guess we just started kissing". All the girls said "awwwww" "shhhhh I laughed" I kept tracing the wood design of the dock with my finger. I didn't want to look up, I was afraid some other campers around us heard. Megan, wrapped her arm around my shoulders and comforted me. Megan had a twin sister who was also in our camp group. They both were pales but with long silk hair. They completely look the same. "Everything ok?" Megan asked cautiously. "Yeah", I defeatedly said "But I feel like that was a mistake, what we did and maybe a little whore-ish" This time Abby chimed in. "Maddie your not a whore from a stupid kiss and you just tried him out, your relationship doesn't have to be serious plus if you didn't feel anything with Rodrick then you know you don't have a future with him. That's perfectly ok" I smiled at all my supporting friends around me and realized how lucky I am to have them. "Thank you guys" I smiled. We gave one big group hug but we were all were wet and cold from the lake so it wasn't the greatest hug. One thing Abby said that won't leave my thoughts is when she said "If you didn't feel anything with Rodrick then you know you don't have a future with him" I did feel something with Rodrick so what do I do now?
