Chapter 12

* AUTHOR's P.O.V. *
Jieun sat in the living room with her face buried in her hands. Tears slowly dripped down the side of her face every time she would hear Y/N scream out all the pain she was experiencing.

She didn't do anything wrong! Why torture her in an even more vicious way than the first time?

She just wished for Y/N's welfare so she agreed to spy on Jungkook and the others because she thought that she was doing the right thing.

The time she spent sitting there, doing absolutely nothing but listen to Y/N's wails and pleas, triggered her. Storming out of the mansion, discreetly heading towards her car, driving off to Jungkook's apartment.

She was determined to get Y/N out of Kai's grip, even if it meant betraying him. The others had no choice since the alpha command was used on them and the last time someone tried to resist it ended up bedridden for almost two weeks.

Jieun parked her car on the allotted space by the side of the road. She stopped as she spotted Jungkook on her way out of the car. Doubt and contemplation took over her body.

How do I tell him? How would he react? Why can't you make up your mind, you dumb f*ck?!

*Knocks on the window*

Jieun flinches and looks to her left at the window. She sees Jungkook, excite plastered all over his face, but his eyes say otherwise. They were full of worry, anger, hatred. Right then and there, she knew exactly what she was about to do.

"Agh!!!" Kai harshly grabs Y/N's chin, bringing her hanging figure closer to him. "Stop making this harder for us, Y/N. Just tell me everything..." Blood was spit at his face out of Y/N's mouth.

He pulls out a pocket knife and points it at the side of her neck, causing a small amount of blood to ooze out. Y/N hisses in pain and tries to kick him away but was unable to due to the ropes tied to her ankles. Her position also made it impossible to even try anything.

"Screw you," she said, looking at him with dark eyes, eyes that showed the need to kill. Kai pressed the knife harder into her skin, creating a deeper wound, even more blood coming out of her neck.

"Kai. You have a visitor," a man said as he entered the room. "Who is it?," Kai asked. "He didn't say. But he did mention knowing you well."

Kai scoffs before walking out to accommodate his guest. As soon as Y/N is left alone, he hangs in midair helplessly. Her body trembles as she begins to feel the pain, the need to eat, the need to hydrate, the need to rest.

A tear makes its way down the side of her face. After that, nothing else came. She felt nothing. Her whole body started to numb due to the lack of blood. That was when she remembered the feeling of being all but dead.

Her life flashes before her eyes. Every significant memory with every significant person. Every emotion with every instance.

This is new. I never saw this before. Is this what others have been saying that your life flashes before you when you're on the brink of death?

"Y/N?", a faint and very familiar voice calls out. "Jimin-ah??", she calls back out. She sees him in front of her trying to figure out how to free her from the restraints. "Hey..." "Shh. Don't talk," he says, cutting her off.

The very faint sound of a window opens from behind her. Jimin looks behind her, "Coast clear?" "Yeah. Oh, God. Y/N!!" The man ran to her, holding her face in his hands.

Oppa?? What are you doing here??

That was the last thing she saw before loosing consciousness.

* JUNGKOOK's P.O.V. *
He fell for it. Okay. Jin and Jimin hyung must already be there. The others will be where we agreed on anyways. Now, we get out of here before I have to start such a worthless conversation with that son of a wolf.

"Psst. Jungkook! Over here," Jieun whisper-shouted to me, pointing out where we can get out without being noticed.

I'm just happy that she told us everything that happened. Guess she really does care about Y/N as much as Nayeon noona and Jin hyung does. As much I care about her.

The passage led us out to the forest, exactly as how we had planned. We both shifted to our wolf form to get away faster and ran into the forest, our sense of smell guiding us through it. 

The scent of the others grew stronger as we got deeper into the forest. Little by little, the scent of blood was mixed with what I could smell. Then it hit me. Wait, no. Hell, no. 

My legs ran even faster, leaving Jieun tailing behind me a few meters. A group of people began coming into sight. I could make up Jin hyung's back and Jisoo noona resuscitating someone while the others surrounded them in a broken circle. 

No, no. Please, no.

And there she was, lying lifelessly on the muddy ground, blood leaking out of her neck from every chest compression. A huge coat was thrown on my back so I shifted back to human form. I crawled closer to her, gently pushing Jisoo to the side. I take her stiff body in my arms, shaking her to wake up. But nothing happens.

I can't see too clearly. Why is it so blurry?! Why are my cheeks wet... That's not important.

"Y/N, wake up goddammit!" Damn, why can't I breathe?! She's so bloody. She has so many cuts and bruises. God, what did they do to you?

"Yah, stop it! Please..." Jin hyung begged, pulling me away from her but I wouldn't let go. At this point, even my coat was smudged in her blood but I couldn't care less. If she could just open her eyes...

"Y/N, please. I still need you. Just open your eyes," I whispered into her ear as my tears fall onto her face. "Please... I love you..."
