Chapter 3

* SATURDAY : Y/N's P.O.V. *

"This one? Nah, too sparkly. How about this? Too revealing. This? Too girly. Ugh. WHAT TO WEAR?"

"Mind if I help?", some familiar voice asked.

I turned around and saw my assistant-slash-best friend. "Yes, please. I'm stuck."

"How about this?", she asked as she showed me the gown she picked.

"It shows too much legs. Don't you think?", I commented after checking it out.

"I sense a 'but' coming."

"But it looks fine. Aside from what I said, I like it. Do you think Jongin will get mad if I wear this?"

"No, he won't. He'd want to show all those other alphas what a fine luna he has. He'd love what you'll be wearing."

"You think so?"

"Of course", she reassured.

"Thanks again, Jieun unnie. I really don't know what I'd do without you", I said as I hugged her.

"Don't start with me, lady. Now get ready. I still have to do your hair and make up", she said as she broke the hug.

She left the room to give me some time to get ready. I don't really know why I didn't see this gown earlier. Pretty sure I checked everything. 'It's probably nothing.'

* JUNGKOOK's P.O.V. *

The rest of my hyungs were getting ready for the meeting later. We had already come up with an escape plan just in case she was being held captive.

Jimin hyung and Hoseok hyung purchased a few earpieces for us yesterday so that the ones left here could be updated about what was happening.

As soon as I was done fixing myself, I headed out to get ready to leave. They were all there except for Jimin hyung. What's new?

"Jungkook-ssi, come here for a second", Namjoon hyung called out. "I borrowed a few gadgets from the company. Here put this on."

He handed me a pin of our pack symbol. "What is this, hyung?", I asked him after analyzing the device.

"It has a small camera installed there. That way we can see what's happening", he explained.

"We all have one", Jimin hyung added as he entered the living room.

"Yah, what did we tell you about being late?", Hoseok hyung scolded him.

"I know. Can we just talk about it later?", he replied.

"Hey. All of you be safe, okay? And keep us updated", Nayeon noona said.

"Don't worry, jagi. We'll be safe. I promi-" he got cut off.

"Don't make any promises. She made one but she didn't keep it", Nayeon noona said.

"Okay. I'll come home to you", he paraphrased and kissed her on the forehead.

"Oh, come on. You two are making Ggukkie feel single", scolded Jin hyung but we all just laughed it off.

When will I ever find my mate?

*TIME SKIP : AFTER THE MEETING *

"I have never attended a meeting as useless and boring as that", V hyung commented.

"Everything is boring to you, Taehyung-ah", Jimin hyung stated.

"Can you guys just shut up? We're trying to get a grasp of what's happening and all we hear are you two", Jin hyung scolded us through the earpiece.

"Get a room already", Namjoon hyung added. I almost laughed but I kept it in.

"Mianhe (sorry)."

We reached the venue where the after-party was being held after a short walk. There were already a lot of people - particularly all of the alphas in Eastern Asia.

Apparently, the main objective of the meeting was to solve the border conflict happening among a few other packs.

Some were fighting about whose territory this unclaimed land should belong to and some of those stuff. Coincidentally, we had a few problems regarding those as well so the meeting was a little helpful.

The guys were talking through the earpiece but I was too busy in my own world to even notice them. My eyes wandered around the hall for at least a minute sign that we really did come here for her.

Who could've killed her?
Did Kai secretly have something to do with this?

"Yah, are you okay? You seem distracted", V hyung nudged my arm bringing me back to reality.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry. You were saying?", I apologized as we walked to the bar to get some drinks.

"So apparently, this after-party is for Kai's mate", Hoseok hyung said through the earpiece.

"Since when did he find his mate?", asked Jimin hyung.

"And who is she?", continued Yoongi hyung.

"You'll find out the answers to both of your questions when you meet her", Hoseok hyung replied.

"So this whole party is to introduce her to all of us?", I clarified.

"Unfortunately, yes", Namjoon hyung answered.

"But what we don't understand is why we need to attend this to get answers from Kai", continued Jin hyung.

"So turns out we're just as clueless as you guys are", concluded V hyung.

* Y/N's P.O.V. *
"It looks nice on you seriously! You look like your attending a funeral if you put on the maroon one", said Jieun unnie.

"But I think it's too glossy", I relented.

"Remind me to tell your mate to never bring you to any grand formal parties again", she said and sighed after.

"Oh, please do."

Just when I was about to say something else, someone knocked on the door. "Jagi, are you ready?"

Kai.

"She'll be out in a minute", Jieun answered for me. "Now you get your big ass out of here and go show them alphas the finest luna to ever exist", she hugged me and pushed me out of the room.

He eyed me up and down and licked his lips before uttering a word, "Well, hello there, beautiful. Shall we get going?"

"You're such a tease. I don't want you looking at me like that later", I said after interlocking my arms to his.

"Why not?"

"Because I can't focus. And I will be socializing with a lot of foreign alphas so I have to focus and not be nervous."

"Fine, whatever. But you're under my command tonight, luna", he said with a smirk and emphasized luna.

As they were walking, Kai mind-linked Jieun to ask if the bug in Y/N's gown was working or not. Jieun replied 'yes' and they secretly exchanged a 'look'.
