(Y/n pov)
It's about 5 am and I had to catch my flight to Korea at 10. My parents thinks that I'm going there to be a teacher, but I'm actually going there to find my older brother, Yuta.
Yuta has been gone for 10 years now, and he hasn't even been sending any letters or a sign that he's even alive! He doesn't have any social media, I can't find his account through face recognition. It's like he just disappeared, so I'm going there to at least know if he's alive.
I really hope he is... I've really been missing my big bro, and my parents have been wrecks for years. They almost divorced since they're blaming his disappearance on each other. Well, now I'm an adult that have graduated, so I can do whatever I want.
The bags are packed and all that is left to do is to eat breakfast, say goodbye to everyone and take the taxi to the airport.
I've never gone on a flight alone and my korean is very... Let's say... Simple. I know how to introduce myself and how to order stuff at resturants. I've also been practising random phrases that are good to know.
"Y/N COME DOWN AND EAT!", my mom yelled. She has been very excited for the last months when I told them that I got a job at a korean preschool. I didn't actually get the job. I had to tell her that I got it anyways. My plan is to go to the apartment I have been planning to live at (I just need to sign the contract when I get there) and then go and look for waitress jobs at different cafés and bars.
There are alot of cafés and bars in Korea. I think that it will be easy to find a place that needs employees, but they will probably reject me because of my korean.
"YEAH MOM, I'M JUST GONNA CHANGE CLOTHES!" I changed into a pair of comfortable jeans paired with a hoodie and my shoulder bag. I looked at myself in the mirror, touched up with some make-up, took my suitcase and went downstairs.
When I got downstairs I was met with my mom, running towards me. She is slightly taller than me, has long hair with a few gray strands in it. She is a very dramatic woman that works as a nurse. She is very popular with the dads in the neighborhood, but she ultimately chose my very weird dad.
My dad stood by the fridge. He is about 20 cm taller than my mother and he always tells dad jokes.
My mon threw herself on me with tears in her eyes. "Oh, my sweetie pie is getting so mature. Honey, bring the camera.", mom said.
I looked like a tired mess right now but my parents still gave me compliments. "Are you happy with me because I'm getting a teacher job?" My mom let go of me and sit my shoulder teasingly. "Sweetie, not only that! You got an A in english! If your korean sucks, then just change to english."
I'm one of the few Japanese people that actually can speak english fluently. It still will be difficult to be hired if I only speak English. "Haha, yeah...", I said awkwardly. I shouldn't be so obvious!
My dad then came up to me with an apple in his hand and hugged me. He hugged me so thightly that I could feel my lungs getting squished like an ant.
"Oh, honey let go! The taxi is here!", mom said. My dad let go and threw a sandwich on me. I almost tripped over my suitcase.
"See ya guys, I love you." My parents hugged me. For once I felt happy around them... But I won't see them in a while.
I grabbed my stuff + the sandwich and walked towards the door. Dad opened it for me and I was off. Going into the unknown and conquering my fears.
Which is that I'm terrified of flying.
Last time I flew I threw up, and directly after that I fainted. This will be interesting.
