after 4 years im back with this longggg as story

brace urself.

after a week of moving in, the house next door was finally occupied. you hadn't seen your new neighbors yet, and you were dying to, so you thought you'd go over and welcome them to the community. disguising your nosiness, you decided to throw some cookie dough in the oven while you went to slip on a dress.

too caught up into making yourself look presentable, you hadn't heard the oven beep. frantically descending downstairs, you attempted to fan the smoke out with your hands before removing the burnt cookies.

shit. whatever.

it was fine, you'd just introduce yourself.

you stood patiently on their front porch after ringing the doorbell.

the wiggling of the doorknob frightened you a bit, wondering if everything was okay. the door was recklessly swung open, and it had revealed a tiny human. he had the cutest little icy eyes, nearly completely hidden by the blond mop he had for hair. he wore a cape. you found it adorable.

you crouched down to his level as you spoke, "hey little guy, are your parents around?"

wide eyes stared back at you, contemplating if he should scream for help or not. he brought his cape up to his face, covering everything under his nose.

"by the power invested in me, count dracula, you will disappear!" how cute .. someone's seen hotel transylvannia too many times.

to help him put his guard down, you attempted the best vampire voice you could, "i am also dracula bleh bleh bleh."

instead of response from the kid, you heard a laugh from above you. your blood ran cold. you quickly rose, embarrassment evident on your face.

"h-hi," you voice higher than normal, "i'm y/n! your neighbor to the left. just wanted to stop by and say hi. i was gonna bring baked goods, but they burned so i'm hoping my personality will distract you guys that i'm here empty handed." jeez y/n she didn't ask for your life story, you thought to yourself.

the woman laughed, "it's fine honey! and it's nice to meet you too, you can call me mrs. butler!" she extended her hand towards you to shake it before inviting you in.

you noticed there were a couple of boxes on the floor as she led you to the living room.

"please excuse us. unlike me, my husband works from home so it was his job to get all of this done."

"you're good! trust me, i know it can be difficult. since i live alone, i had stuff in boxes for weeks."

"oh honey, alone? you don't look a day over 18"

"haha, thank you but i attend the university 20 minutes into the city," you explained, "i just don't stay on campus."

she clicked her tongue as a way to show she understood.

"i want you to meet my husband!" she began to shout, "Draco, the neighbor's here!!"

you don't really know what you were expecting, but you know for sure it wasn't what was standing in front of you. you could definitely tell who the kid was a carbon copy of, not a trace of his mother in his physical appearance.

you would've had to slap yourself if his voice hadn't pulled you from your thoughts, "wonderful to meet you," he paused, waiting for your name.

"y/n. the pleasure's all mine sir."
