After the incident at Nandos last week, Harry didn't want to pressure Amelia into another meeting until she got her feelings together. So for the past week, Harry has been fighting within himself on what to do with Eden's present. Part of him think's it's unfair to him, but the other part of him thinks he's overreacting and should just get her something else.
Harry woke up with Eden sprawled out on his king size bed with her little ice cold toes on the side of his arm. He carefully reached for his phone that was on the bed side table and texted Amelia.
H: "Hey, how are you today?"
A: "Alright. Can we meet again this afternoon?"
H: "Uh, sure. Where?"
A: "The park. Bring Eden, she can play while we talk."
H: "I prefer to keep her out of this until I can completely trust you."
Harry didn't mean to sound snappy, but he didn't know how else to say it.
A: "Fine. Then we'll meet at Carol's, that new coffee shop by the clock tower."
H: "Okay, see you then."
Harry didn't mean to sound terribly mean, he just wanted to get his point across.
"Okay, Eden," Harry said turning around and putting his phone back on the table. "looks like you're staying with Li again," he said softly trying his best not to wake up his sleeping daughter. He tiptoed to his dresser and carefully pulled out a pair of jeans and a shirt to dress in. As he was about to walk out the door, a loud voice made him freeze on his way downstairs.
"Daddy!" Eden yelled, sounding as if she was panicking. Harry ran back into his room with open arms, ready to scoop her up and shower her with kisses. "I can never get away from you, can I?" he said inches away from her face.
Since it was a Saturday morning, Harry makes a special breakfast for Eden and himself. He played his old albums from when he was in One Direction. When Amelia, became pregnant, he didn't waste any time taking a break from the band to start his family. Then, when the incident with Amelia happened, Harry said he could no longer be in the band, but he would still go to concerts and events to support them. He made it all the way to the third album, but not a day goes by where he doesn't listen to at least one song from any of the three. Eden will recognize some of the songs and begin to dance.
As Harry made Eden's favorite pancakes, blueberry and strawberry, they both sang along to "Live While We're Young". He had taken Eden and placed her on his hip towards the end of the song and began to bounce with her.
"Babe," Harry began as he flipped his last pancake, "I used to be so obsessed with fame and wealth, but then I found out you were in your mother's tummy. Instantly, she forced marriage down our throats, mine especially. So, I proposed. We got married right after I turned 19. People told me I was crazy," he put the last pancake on top of the stack, "and sometimes, I think I should have listened." He walked over to the dining room and sat in one of the chairs, with Eden on his lap, leaning with her back against his chest. Harry always gets choked up when he thinks about things like this, but he didn't want to cry in front of Eden in concern of her being confused as to why her father was crying.
"But, Eden," he said staring at a piece of fabric hanging off the side of the couch, trying to avoid the tears he knew were already going to begin to fill his eyes. Eden was quietly and steadily sucking on her la-la. "If I would've listened and believed such a thing, I wouldn't have the light of my life." Harry pressed his lips together while Eden looked up at him. He finally looked down at the toddler who was dying for the attention of her father. He gave the sweet child a slow-forming smirk and gave her a kiss on the nose. "And you, my love, are the light that leads me on."
