(Ein's POV)

Holy shit... this guy's an asshole. And he's smart too. He found a way to get out of the handcuffs. Fuck, I'm so stupid. Why did I ever think I could handle this on my own? If this guy can outsmart me, how many others can? If Aphmau were here, she'd tell me It's alright. She'd tell me not to let him get into my head... she'd also tell me to outsmart him. She always thought I was smart for some reason. I never understood why. I was just always good at getting out of tough situations. That's it, really. Okay, Ein. Compose yourself. Don't let him get under your skin and just negotiate with him. I take a deep breath and open the door to the basement. As I walk down, I see that Blaze is still in the handcuffs.

"You're... still in the cuffs?"

"Well... yeah. What else am I gonna do?"

"I dunno, read a book or something? Steal more of my food?"

"Look... Blue, I'm sorry."

"Blue?"

"Well, I don't know your name. And it kinda suits you."

"*sigh* My name's Ein."

"Oh, well, Ein. I'm sorry."

"For?"

"Oh c'mon. Are you really gonna make me say it all?"

"Yeah. What are you sorry for?"

"*sigh* I'm sorry I stole your food." Blaze says sheepishly.

"It's alright," I begins, "I should've at least given you something to eat."

"Eh, it's alright..."

I don't respond, leaving us both in a piercing silence. It seemed to last forever. It was both awkward and eerie, as my basement didn't really have a whole lot of light coming in. I finally sigh, breaking the silence, as I walk over to Blaze.

(Blaze's POV)

Ein walks over to me. He then does something I never would've guessed... he's undoing the handcuffs! I stare at him in both confusion and disbelief.

"W-Why?" I ask him.

"I'm still keeping you as my prisoner... but it's just kinda inhumane to chain someone to a post. Don't get the wrong idea."

"What wrong idea should I have gotten?"

"I don't want you thinking I'm helping you. I'm still gonna turn you in to King Garte. It's just... I spoke with him today and he said that the cells are all full. So you're staying with me until some of them clear up."

"O-Oh... well, thanks I guess."

"For what? After they clear up, you're getting sent straight to your death." Ein replies bitterly.

"I mean thank you for not keeping me chained up."

"Ah."

He stares into my eyes for a brief moment. His eyes are grey. But not a dark grey. More like a light silver-y grey. They're really pretty, if I'm being honest. He looks away before standing up. This dude's weird. At first he's yelling at me, and now he's practically setting me free. I'm so confused right now. Ein walks out of the basement and I just sit there looking at the door like an idiot. I make myself stand up and walk over to the reading nook. Time to continue what I was doing before I eventually die. I grab the same book from the shelf and find my page.

(Third Person)

As night fell and the sky grew dark, the kingdom of Scaleswind calms down. Windows begin to go dark and street lamps light up. Suddenly, in the forest that borders the kingdom, the trees rustle. Smoke starts to rise from one point of the wall. Then another. And another. As if out of nowhere, explosions burst where the smoke was. Parts of the bordering wall collapse as figures shrouded in darkness make their way into the kingdom.

The figures weave their way through houses, down alleys, and through the streets. They continue to run, not seeming to stop... until they reach King Garte's castle. One figure, who seems to be the leader, gestures for the rest of them to move forward. They begin to climb up one of the towers. The leader follows suit as they make it to the top of the tower. There are guards there, but they don't notice the figures. The leader gestures for them to take out the guards. They do as they're told, and as if out of nowhere, the guards are lying on the ground, unconscious.

They continue on, making their way closer to the castle. After a few more rounds of knocking the guards out, they find themselves at the heart of the kingdom. The throne room. The leader stops in front of the main entrance to the throne room.

"Alright, everyone. Do as we planned. Stay put, while I discuss business with the King."

The leader pulls down his hood, revealing his sunset orange hair. He has black cat ears as well. Though an odd combination of colors, it seems to match thankfully, since it's all natural. He keeps his mask up, though, as to not reveal the bottom half of his face. He runs his fingers through his hair and sighs as he walks up to the main entrance of the throne room. There are two guards blocking the entrance. They raise their staffs at the leader.

"State your business." One of the guards asks.

"I'm here to speak with King Garte about important matters."

"Such as?"

"...Taking down the Werewolves."
