(Ein's POV)
After a little while longer going through the beautiful town, Blaze and I reach the Alpha's Den. When we come up to the stairs leading to the main entrance, I feel my legs start to give out on me. It becomes harder to breathe and I feel myself hyperventilating. Blaze puts a hand on my shoulder and lightly moves my face to look at him.
"You're gonna be alright, Ein. I wouldn't do anything that would put you at harm. I promise." Blaze says softly with a small yet genuine smile on his face.
"I-I know... I'm just... a little scared. You know?"
"I get it. But I mean it. There's really nothing to be scared of. Alpha's a good guy."
I sigh, knowing that Blaze is probably right about this since he lives here. I nod my head and look ahead. I grasp his hand lightly, not wanting to go up these stairs alone. His fingers wrap around my hand gently before we begin walking up the flight of stairs leading to the front entrance. Once we're there, Blaze greets the two guards blocking the door. They immediately let him through, but when I try to go through the doors, they block me. Blaze realizes that my grip on his hand has disappeared and turns back to see why.
"Hey guys, he's with me. It's alright. I'm taking him to see the Alphas."
The guards look to each other skeptically, but eventually agree to let me inside. I hurry to Blaze's side and we continue through the... very big mansion. It's really amazing. Very nicely furnished and decorated while still keeping a more natural feeling. The white flooring compliments the dark wooden walls surprisingly well. We continue on up a big flight of stairs leading to the second floor. Blaze leads me down what I'm assuming is the main hallway as it leads to an unusually large pair of dark oak doors. Blaze knocks on them and waits a bit.
"Come in." someone says from behind the doors, just loud enough for us to hear.
Blaze turns to me, "Wait right here. I'm gonna greet him and then call you in, alright?"
I open my mouth to say yes, but nothing comes out. So instead, I just look down and nod my head yes. He rubs my shoulder a little bit before opening one of the large doors.
(Blaze's POV)
I hate having to leave Ein there, but it's just for a second, so it should be fine. I open one of the doors and step through to see Alpha Aaron sitting at his desk reading something seemingly very important, as he has his reading glasses on. He takes them off and looks over to me. I don't think he realized who I was when I first walked in, since when he sees me, his face lights up.
"Blaze, you're back! I'm assuming the journey went well?"
"Well... It didn't go completely according to plan, but yeah. I'd say it went pretty good." I reply, remembering that Ein and I will have to tell him about the Meif'wa attack and their plans.
"Ah. Well, you'll have to tell me all about it later."
"Of course!" I look back at the door and back at Aaron, "So... you know how I was supposed to get that kid?"
Aaron raises an eyebrow, "Yes...?"
"Well... I uh... I didn't get him-"
Aaron pinches the bridge of his nose and deeply inhales, "What do you mean you didn't get him, Blaze?"
"I kinda sorta... got caught?"
"What?! What do you mean you got caught?!" Aaron asks, suddenly very worried.
"It's fine! The guy who caught me's here, too."
"WHAT?!"
"No, I- Ugh, Alpha, it's fine, trust me." I say, softening my tone, "We had to escape Scaleswind after being attacked. I'll tell you about that later, but he's here right now waiting outside of your door. So... just give him a chance? Please?"
