Later that day, Mrs. Weasley demanded to let Elodie, Harry and Hermione, go home with the Weasley children.
She got her stuff packed up, and got the portkey to 12 Grimmauld Place.
The Weasley's went to the hospital. Molly was going to be staying there until Christmas - which was when Arthur was coming home.
———
For Elodie's eighteenth birthday, nothing much happened. The house was so busy - preparing for Arthur's return and of course, Christmas.
She received the gift of a lifetime from Fred (if you get what I mean).
Sirius got her a ring - which had been his, back in the day.Remus had got her a bracelet. He told her the sad story it had produced fourteen years earlier.
Supposedly, he was going to give it to Lily - Elodie and Harry's mum - for Christmas. When she passed, he vowed to give it to Elodie on her eighteenth birthday.Everyone else just spent extra time with her - which was perfectly enough.
"There we go... daddy's back." Mrs. Weasley grinned, whilst pushing the wheelchair of Mr. Weasley up to the dinner table.
Everyone smiled and clapped at his quick recovery.
"Sit down, everybody, sit down. That's it. Now, presents." Molly walked to the back of the room, and picked up some presents.
Everyone opened up their gifts.
Christmas with the Weasley's were always going to hold a special place in Elodie's heart.Elodie unwrapped her present, which was a red, knitted jumper, with a yellow, letter 'E' embedded on the chest.
"Thank you so much, Mrs. Weasley. It's wonderful. I love it so much."
"Please dear, you should know to call me Molly now. And I'm so glad you love it! Pop it on!"
Elodie pulled the jumper over her head and it fit perfectly.
Dinner was spectacular - due to Molly's fantastic cooking.
When everyone was cleaning up, Harry walked in - followed by Sirius.
Molly gave her gift to Harry, and kissed him on the cheek.
"Lovely to have you with us, my dear.""A Christmas toast!" Arthur called the attention back to the table. Everyone held up their glasses.
"To Ms. Elodie Potter and, Mr. Harry Potter, without whom I would not be here.
Elodie and Harry."Everyone cheered to that.
———
It was around 8pm. The day had been revolved around spending time together.
Sometimes, Elodie forgot that people spent so much time with family. Even after all these years. She knew that she had to let off some steam. She was in need of a good cry.
Elodie closed her eyes and apparated to Godric's Hollow.
The last time she was there, was when she was three.
Elodie walked down the empty, cobbled streets.
Carols could be heard coming from the church.
She followed the noise as she knew the graveyard would hold her parents. With the snow on the ground, the names James & Lily Potter would have been difficult to locate, if they were just ordinary people. However, since Godric's Hollow is pretty much known for them, the graves had wreaths and flowers surrounding them.
Elodie walked closer and saw that hundreds of people had left little notes and letters."Good luck out there, Elodie and Harry! We love you!"
"You changed the world for the better. Thank you."
"You two are the bravest people the world has ever known. Thank you."
And those were only some examples.
Tears started to fall from Elodie's eyes.
She sobbed quietly in-front of her parent's grave.
Elodie managed to compose herself, to get up. She kissed her fingertips and placed them on the gravestone.
"I love you Mum and Dad, and I hope you're proud of me."
She walked away, and walked further down the empty lane.
There was a sign on the side of the path, that was pointing in the direction of the Potter Cottage.
Elodie gasped slightly at this, and tears started to fall again. Her mascara was all smudged but thankfully, there was no one in sight. She followed the direction of the sign and saw the ruins of the cottage.
Once she reached the gate, a sign came up from out of the ground.
Each word was beautifully pigmented with a shimmering gold colour. It read:On this spot, on the night of 31st October 1981,
Lily and James Potter lost their lives.
Their daughter and son, Elodie and Harry, remain the only witch and wizard
ever to have survived the Killing Curse.
This house, invisible to Muggles, has been left
in its ruined state as a monument to the Potters,
and as a reminder of the violence
that tore apart their family.Once again, the tears fell. She crouched to the ground and sobbed her heart out.
That was the home her parents died in.
That was the home where her life changed forever. Finally, she picked herself up and apparated back to 12 Grimmauld Place.
She fell to the floor and started to sob again.Sirius and Fred noticed, and speed-walked to her.
"Elodie! What on earth is the matter?" Sirius put his arm around her.
"I went there. I went to Godric's Hollow."
"Oh my goodness. Why?" Fred leaned forward and kissed the top of her head.
"I don't know. Can I talk to Harry please?" She sniffled
"Yeah, of course. I'll bring him down to the kitchen." Sirius gave her a comforting rub on the shoulder, and he went to get her brother.
"I could've come with you, you know?" Fred whispered as he helped her up.
They walked to the kitchen and sat at the dinner table."We best leave them to it, Fred. Come on." Sirius brought Harry in to the kitchen and pointed to the door, to signal Fred to leave.
The Potter siblings were alone.
"So... I went to Mum and Dad's grave."
"Why didn't you bring me?" Harry asked confusedly
"I needed to be alone..."
Harry nodded in reply.
"But, Harry... I want you to know that if you ever decide that you would like to visit Godric's Hollow, then just let me know and I'll take you there.""I'm not sure if I want to, just yet. I can understand why you wanted to though, as you're a proper adult now..."
"That's understandable, Harry. And if you ever want to talk with me about Mum and Dad, I would be happy to do so. I miss them just as much as you."
Harry brought his sister in for a hug. They stayed there for a while.
