12. The Yule Ball - Pt. 1

24.12.1994 - After Breakfast (9:45) - The morning of the Yule Ball

George knocked at the girls' door.
"Can we come in?" He asked

"Yes!" The four girls shouted

The door opened and George, Lee and Fred were stood there with two gift bags.

"These are for you, Elodie. Happy birthday!"

"Oh my goodness you shouldn't have!" She took the bags and placed them on the bed.
She gave the three boys a hug and a kiss on the cheek each.
"I'll see you guys later..." she winked, as they left the room.

Elodie and her dorm mates were showing each other their dresses.

"Right, I guess I'll show mine first..." Angelina said as she walked to her wardrobe and grabbed a long white bag.
She unzipped it and out came a beautiful purple/black dress. It had small specks of glitter embedded in the chest.

"Oh my god. Sakura will be drooling!!!" Elodie said

The rest of the girls showed their dresses until they reached Elodie.

She walked to her wardrobe and got out a white zip up bag, similar to Angelina's.
She unzipped it and there it was in all of its beauty.

It was a light shade of blue and had tiny bits of glitter embedded in the entire thing. It had thin straps, and the entire thing hugged her body in a way that made her feel secure.
Her shoes were clear, and showed off her fresh pedicure that she did a few days beforehand.
The girls ushered her with numerous compliments until Alicia spoke up:
"Right let's get dressed!!"

The girls had a shower each, and Katie was currently applying a face mask on Alicia, whilst Angelina was painting everyone's nails.

Elodie put some pyjamas on just to wear for the preparations.
She began to blow dry her hair, and once that was done, she tied it into a sleek, low ponytail. She added some finishing touches such as straightening it and applying hair spray.

"El come over here! I'll do your nails now!"
She walked over to the beanbag opposite Angelina and sat down.

She used her wand to apply acrylic and the varnish until they looked neatly painted.
"Perfect. Thank you so much Ang!"
She smiled in return.

After around 2 hours of preparations, the girls finally had their dresses on.

"Elodie, go and open their presents before we go!!" Katie squealed

She went back over to her bed and decided to open the first gift which was from George and Lee. The label read:

To our No.1 bestie,
Happy birthday! We're going to make this as memorable as we can for you!
Have a great one,
Lee and Georgie xx

Elodie smiled at the heartfelt note and opened the bag wider to pick out the gift.

It was a picture frame with the four of them in Diagon Alley. The picture was taken back in third year, just after Elodie turned 14.

She smiled at the memory and placed it on her bedside table.

Next was Fred's gift. The label read:

Happy 17th birthday El!
I hope you like the present <3
- Freddie x

She reached in to the bag and saw a small box and a bottle. She looked closer at the bottle and realise it was some perfume.
The perfume was spritzed all over and it was the most floral and fruity scent she had ever smelt.
Elodie opened the box and saw a dainty necklace laying in there.

"May I?" Angelina asked, and she nodded in reply.

Angelina carefully took the necklace out of the box, moved Elodie's hair to the side and clasped it around her neck.

The necklace was silver, but had a picture in the locket with the two of them.
Elodie was kissing Fred's cheek. The picture was taken in the previous year when they were out drinking, in celebration of Fred & George's birthday.

"You know, you're extremely lucky to have them." Katie placed her hand on her friends' shoulder and smiled.

"Right, enough of this emotional shit! Let's get down there!" Alicia said

"You guys go on down... I need to see Emaline."

"Your slytherin friend?" Katie said, which earned a slap on the arm from Angelina.
"You go on down there hun. We'll most likely be down with the boys."

Elodie smiled at the girls, grabbed an enchanted bag which could fit anything she would like inside, and put some necessities in (condoms, tampons, her new perfume, and a hair tie or two) and started to walk swiftly to the slytherin common rooms.

As she arrived at the entrance, Draco was on his way out.

"I presume you're here to see Emaline?" He asked
"I am.. could you let me in?"
"Yeah... go on then..."

He said the password and the door opened for her.

"Thank you." She ran up to her room, which said Emaline's name, along with her dorm mates'.

She knocked on the door and her slytherin friend opened it.

"Oh my goodness! Elodie! Happy birthday!" She was quick to embrace her in a hug.
"Ooh! I got you something... oh do come in! The others have left."

Emaline was wearing a stunning lilac dress. Which had rose gold vines placed around her torso.

Elodie walked into her room and sat on the emerald sofa.

"Now it's nothing special, but I just knew that I had to get you something..." she handed her a black box, which had tiny enchantments of gold birds flying.

Elodie smiled and opened it, and there was a small ring which was silver, and had a tiny red gem.

A ruby.

"My birth stone!! Thank you so much, Em!"
The two embraced each other in a hug.

"Now... are we ready to go?" Emaline asked
"Yes... let me just..." she got her perfume out of the bag and sprayed it on her wrists and neck.
"Would you like some?" Elodie asked
"Oh my goodness! Yes please!"

The pair held hands whilst walking to the great hall, as it was extremely intimidating. Especially with all of the first, second and third years staring at them oddly as they passed each other in the corridors.

They finally reached the large doors.

"Ready?" Elodie asked
"Ready as I'll ever be."

Elodie led the two as they began to walk down the stairs. She could see her friends staring at her in awe just a few metres away.
As they reached the bottom, the girls said their goodbyes and went off to their dates.
