Serkan couldn't believe his eyes. What was that he was reading? He felt his whole world shift for the first time since he got back. Everything he now knew about his father seemed to be entirely wrong. He's a murderer, a criminal. But a part of Serkan, the part that refused to believe his father could ever hide something like that, stood still on the matter of reopening the investigation. "Engin, you understand I have to reopen this investigation, don't you?" Serkan stares at his worried friend in front of him, his semblance firm about his decidion. "Abi, this won't be good for anyone. Not for you, not for the company, not for Eda," he emphasized his supposed fiancée's name. Serkan honestly wasn't caring about anything else, maybe he was being selfish but he had to let his father come clean of that investigation. No one else understood the tightness on his heart, he couldn't bare thinking that unscrupulous man was, besides everything, a criminal. And if he truly was, Serkan would make hell of that man's life. "Serkan, bak, you have your mind full, take some time and we'll talk again, tamam?" Engin tries to gain some time to change his friend's mind. But he also knew how stubborn his friend was. "Hayir, I'm gonna work on it today", he motions to leave but Engin stops him. "Serkan, lütfen... you did all the investigation before, believe me you looked to the bottom of it!", Engin's tone was afflicted. But he also didn't seem to understand that Serkan was, too, afflicted. "I want to believe you, Engin! I want to believe everything! You can't understand what I am feeling! I don't remember anything," Serkan raises his tone, restlessly running his hands through his hair. "Bak, it's not that I don't believe you, you're my friend. But Engin, my mind is a mess, you know how I am, I only believe what I have proof of. If I don't have my memory, how can I? What if I missed something before? What if I didn't really go to the bottom of it? I can try again!" Serkan's desperation was perceived in his voice. Engin gave up, he couldn't deny his friend that. However, he'd have to allow him under one condition. "Tamam, I understand. But there's one thing you'll promise me first..." Engin looked at him and saw his friend nod his head and murmur a 'tamam'. Serkan patiently waits for Engin to say something and a few moments later, the man hesitantly says: "You'll need to talk to Eda first."
Serkan and Engin were now on their way to Eda's house. Serkan couldn't deny that or Engin would not allow him to do his work at peace. He didn't understand why he needed to talk to her but Engin had made a good point: she could clarify him some things, including about this accident since it happened with her parents, and, according to Engin, this had a huge impact on their relationship. Their relationship. An actual real relationship between him and Eda. Simply unbelievable to him, it felt like something his mind made up. After all, he never thought he'd find real love. He never thought he'd be loved, or worthy of finding the one true love and genuine happiness on someone else but himself. So there he was on his way to her house after she left the office disturbed with their latest clash. As they approached the facade of the house, Serkan felt a sense of familiarity. And when he got off the car following Engin, his memory flicked. Three images at once. All of them with Eda. She was wearing a t-shirt, walking back to give him a cheek kiss before grabbing her suitcase from his hand walking upstairs to her house. Next he sees them holding hands and hugging in front of her house, until a woman appears at the gate interrupting them. And the last image was at the daylight, she was wearing a red coat and giving him cheeky kisses on his cheek before walking upstairs. "Abi, you're okay?", he is snapped out of his mind with Engin looking back at him, worried. "Ah, evet. Let's go!" He catch up to his friend and both open the small gate that leads to the house yard. "Enişte!" a very adorable woman drops the plants she was carrying on the floor and embraces him on a hug. "I missed you so much!". Serkan looks confused. Engin simply looks at Melo, as she already knew about Serkan's new condition but seemed to have forgotten. "Oh, sorry! You don't remember..." she says, a little disheartened. Serkan felt sorry for her, if he wasn't wrong her name started with a M. Or N? He pushes on his mind, but he didn't remember. He was sure he's met her before, it was one of Eda's friends. He points at her about to ask her name, but he barely started the sentence and she already gave him an answer. "Melek, but you call me Melo!" She blinks a little embarrassed, and gives him a shy smile. "Oh, Melek... I remember you... just..." he tries to explain he never thought he'd get too close to Eda's friend like that. To anyone, for the matter. "Ah okay, I got it," she giggles and winks at him. They smile to each other and Engin asks for Eda. Melo, then, directs them to the front door and tells them Eda is in her bedroom. "You can go, make yourself at home! Just knock before entering her room!" So the adorable woman grabs the bunch of plants again and leaves to the other side of the yard.

General FictionHe promised her when she opened her eyes again he would be back, so she opened... Yet he wasn't there. An EdSer shortfiction based on literally assumptions. My take on how I'd carry on the story from the point left off on bolüm 28.
