KERA WAS FAR TOO jittery and impatient for the Mandalorian's liking when the disassembled ramp hadn't lowered onto the forest floor underfoot but nevertheless, he'd dealt with it. Just as he had with her bossy directions of where exactly to land the Razor Crest on Takodana.

I don't want you to land the poor ship in a body of water again. She'd quipped over his shoulder with that silly grin and that glimmer in her lovely brown eyes. It'd been somewhat reasonable for her say such a thing. In her defence he had landed the ship in a body of water on Trask.

It was truly frustrating how her she'd flick the switch within her. How her strange facade would change when he'd least been prepared for it. Then again, even to his surprise she'd become a lot more comfortable and trusting around him ── and maybe, himself of Kera too.

With her battered toolbox in hand and the straps of the rucksack sewn over her shoulders, Kera had lowered herself from the ramp and onto the leaves and twigs underfoot. It was only when he'd followed after her with the child nestled in the crook of his arm that she started to walk on the dirt path.

Scattered light inks through the canopy of emerald leaves overhead, sprinkling the three in specks golden light as they make their way through the woodland. Already in the distance, a towering, ancient-looking castle overlooking a vast fresh-water lake.

"That's Maz's Castle ── it's a sanctuary for all sorts of individuals, pirates, bounty hunters, smugglers, crooks, you name it," Kera informed with a pointed finger. "And the lake, well, it's called Nymeve Lake. I don't recommend skinny dipping in it though."

The Mandalorian couldn't help it when rusted laugher echoed from his lips, skinny dipping was definitely the furthest thing from his mind, especially when he'd examined his surroundings. "Why not?"

Kera had a glimmer in her eyes, a spark within them he hadn't seen in the couple days of travelling upon the Razor Crest. She'd looked away towards the lake, thinking that she'd imagined his laughter and mumbled ever so softly, "It's always really cold."

As they'd made their way to the castle, the path changing from dirt to brick. Kera seemed to grow slightly anxious and he couldn't help but recognise that it must have been a long time since she'd last stepped put on this system. Together with the child, they continued to walk through the stone arch, coloured flags and lights strung overhead. The statue of the humanoid woman above was a distinct feature, and perhaps, the Mandalorian observed was possibly in fact, Maz Kanata.
