I had to tell her. I had to warn her. My father would do anything to get a scientific breakthrough.
So I went to her house one day, hoping to pour the news to her. But she wasn't there.
I talked to her mom for a little while, and she said that Elle was bike riding with none other than Sagittarius. I said a polite thank you and walked outside, whipping out my phone.
"Elle," I say as it rings, "Answer." I tap my foot, until she finally picks up.
"Oh, hey, Nadine. What's up?" She says, all bubbly and such.
"Sorry, am I interrupting something?" I say, slightly irritated.
"Um...no? Kind of? Is this important?"
"Yes! Extremely." I attempt to scowl through the phone.
"Okay! Okay, what is it? Hurry, I'm like, having a moment."
"What, with Sag?"
"Shut up! Nadine, ugh! Just tell me later!"
Click.
I slowly pull the phone away from my ear. Did she just hang up on me?
Fine then, if she cares about Sag more than her life, then so do I.
