Chapter 13: Hungry Hungry Hippos

He's putting his everything into a simple kiss and I do the exact same.

Sooner or later our clothes are off, and he whispers:

"Are you sure you want to do this?" I simply nod.

Because I did want to do this.

We both wake the next day and I wonder if he could get the thought of last night out of his head because I sure as hell couldn't.

After we, you know, it wasn't awkward. We both told each other that it was great since that's the polite thing to do and ate our cold pizza and candy while watching The Outsiders.

It's like we're still best friends.

And maybe we are. But there's more to it.

We just haven't figured out what yet.

We ended up going back to America a week later since we were missing too much school apparently. His mom still hasn't woken up and since its winter break soon, we both decided to spend Christmas there. Plus his brother, Liam is coming home for the holidays.

I'm not sure if Connor is happy or upset about seeing his brother.

"I'll see you later." Connor says as we walk in different directions to our houses. I smile at him and kiss his cheek. I can see a small blush on his cheeks as I wave in his direction.

Eventually I end up at home. "Hi, honey. How was school?" My mom asks as soon as I get inside.

"Surprisingly good." I say. Today wasn't awful because school in general is kinda awful but today was actually nice. We didn't have too much homework, Jake stayed in his lane of bimbos and jocks.

Today was nice.

"And how's Connor holding up?" She asks while flipping channels on the couch.

"He's good. Considering..." I say yet don't really finish. She nods knowingly and I sit down next her, throwing my bags on the floor in the process. "How you've been, mom?" I ask and she shrugs.

"Good. Work has been normal, everything is normal. Its weird." She says while leaving the TV on Law & Order.

And the rest of the evening went by normally.

"Hi." Connor says and yawns as he opens the door to his house. "What are you yawning for its like 5pm?" I ask while inviting myself in.

His parents went to my house since they wanted to have an 'adult' party with my mom and a few friends. So Kenzie went to her friends house and I came here since I'm clingy.

"Its Saturday, and I stayed up all night on the phone with you, Ara. Plus I had a dentist appointment so I couldn't sleep in." He says and I shrug.

"Sleep is for the weak."

"Or normal humans beings, but I mean that's cool too." He says while I make my way to his kitchen.

"Where's that good good at?" I ask in the best hood voice I could muster.

"The what?" He asks with utter confusion on his face.

"I can tell you're not in on the new lingos of the generation." I say while getting the stuff out to make cookies.
