Cattail and Pond, after having robbed what was left of the last meal, found a dragon to inform about what happened. She was a very large Mudwing with terracotta, dark brown, and a little warm brown color scales. Her eyes were black and her scales were clear like Deltas. That was an uncommon trait among Mudwings. Her horns were large and curved and she had a large scar on her eye. Despite her fierce appearance she gave a friendly smile as she said "Hi! I'm Terracotta. Are you looking for something?" She must have noticed their nervous expressions because she frowned slightly and asked "Are you okay?" "Yes. Wait no. Something happened. I'm Cattail and this is my sister Pond." "What happened?" she asked. "Well... we think someone just tried to kill Obsidian the Sandwing." Pond said. That probably wasn’t the best way to start but Terracotta didn’t panic. "Show me, and on the way tell me exactly what happened." She said her face serious. When they got there Terracotta examined the rock and ceiling and confirmed what Cattail said. "Try to keep this quiet for now; I need to talk to the Founders. We don’t need to freak anyone out. It might be an isolated incident. Now that they failed they may not try again." She told them. Cattail nodded. She was actually beginning to like JMA, she didn’t want anyone to drop out and risk the school closing. "I'll talk to Obsidian and Frost and I’d like both of you to talk to Drought and Dreamspeaker." "We will." Cattail agreed. She was impressed by how well Terracotta had remembered her friend’s names. Pond turned and scampered off down the tunnel but as Cattail turned to leave Terracaotta stopped her with one wing. "Hey Cattail, take care of your siblings okay? And I’ll talk to you later." Cattail didn’t know why that was extraordinarily important but she always protected her siblings. "I will. Always." Cattail told her. Terracotta smiled and nodded and Cattail darted down the hall after her sister. Together they got together their usual lunch group and told them what happened. They all promised not to tell anyone outside the group. "That’s... disturbing." Mirage said. "I think she deserved to get her tail crushed not Frost." Rattlesnake commented. "Poor Frost. I feel really bad for him." Poinsettia added. "Yeesh. I wonder if his tail will be permanently messed up. It would be really hard to fly that way. Or swim." Chasm said flinching at the thought. "I really hope not." Alligator said. "Me neither. It’s not his fault for having a good heart." Pond continued. "To bad it was wasted on a dragon like Obsidian." Salamander said shaking his head and got a hard elbow from both Alligator and Pond simultaneously for it. "We should go check on him tomorrow." Delta suggested. "I feel kinda bad for not talking to him more." Drought said. "I think we all do." Dreamspeaker told him. "I might not go. He didn’t really know me." Avalanche said. "Well I'm going." Mirage declared. "Me too." Dragonfly agreed. "Ok, I'll go. We should go in our free period tomorrow." Avalanche decided. Everyone agreed easily. "I wonder if Obsidian will visit." Dragonfly questioned. "I doubt it. That dragon’s heart is colder than the Icewing Palace." Drought replied. "You never know, he did save her life." Dreamspeaker countered. Drought snorted in disbelief. "I'll go swimming if that happens." "You’re on." Dreamspeaker challenged. "If you keep making bets over Frost I will put you both in the healers cave for a year." Mirage told them whacking the closest one on the head with the blunt side of her tail. That happened to be Dreamspeaker. He yelped in pain when it hit with a thud. "Oh listen, it’s hollow." She said. Drought laughed and said "If he loses can he have to face Mirage in fight?" "Absolutely not. I would rather be set on fire." Dreamspeaker said earning himself another whack. "That can be arranged." Mirage said. "Chasm help!" Dreamspeaker said as he darted behind the Seawing when Mirage stood up and came toward him with smoke coming from her nostrils. "No way! I'm not getting involved in that!" Chasm said moving away. Mirage laughed. "The big bad Nightwing is scared of a simple Sandwing?" She challenged. "Mirage, you are anything but simple." Dreamspeaker snorted. "Agreed." Cattail said. "Agreed." Everyone else managed to say at the time causing all of them, including Mirage, to laugh. "We totally shouldn’t be laughing you know." Pond declared. Dragonfly rolled his eyes. "Uh-huh sure whatever you say." Pond wrinkled her snout at him. "To change the subject Prim, I’m still curious about your brothers from like forever ago." Poinsettia said. Prim got an evil smile. Cattail almost felt bad for her brothers. Almost. When they finally went back Prim found a scroll on her hammock. "It's from my family" She told Cattail and Poinsettia. "Well read it." Poinsettia insisted. "My brother both said 'right back at you' and that they will get revenge for the 'Creatures' I left in their beds, My sisters said that they miss me, My dad said to ignore my mother’s message, My mom sent me a bunch of diplomatic stuff I don’t understand and told me to check on my cousin." "You have a cousin?" Poinsettia asked. "Yeah, he's my mom's half-sisters son. He's a Sandwing that goes here." "How’s he a Sandwing?" Cattail asked "My mom and her sister share a mom but different dads. My mom’s was a Rainwing and her sister’s was a Sandwing." "Oh." Cattail said. Prim gave her an amused look. "Yes, I know. My family is confusing." "All family is confusing." Poinsettia snorted. "You can say that again." Prim told her. "Go to sleep!" Coattails said throwing a scroll at them. Prim ducked so it hit Poinsettia in the snout. Prim tried, and failed, to keep from laughing as Poinsettia gave Cattail the 'I'm gonna kill you look'. She held up the scroll and said "Thanks but I don't really want to read 'Tales of the Nightwings' although, i might steal Prim's idea and want to read 'Poisonous Creatures of Jade Mountain'." "Prim! Why did you start giving her ideas?!" Cattail roared flinging another scroll at Prim who yelped and darted away. The gong rung then breaking the joking mood. "Now are you going to sleep?" Cattail asked. "Only if you put these up." Poinsettia said throwing all the scrolls back at Cattail who caught most of them and restacked them on the shelf. "I wonder if Terracotta or the founders will say anything about the attack tomorrow." Prim asked. Poinsettia groaned and said "If I never hear about that again I will be perfectly fine." "Me too." Cattail agreed but Prim just shrugged. "Go to sleep Ms. One-third-Rainwing." Poinsettia told her and Prim rolled her eyes but curled up in her hammock anyway.
