I opened the passenger door on the car and sat down, watching as Tommy closed the door.
"Sorry kiddo that I had to pick you up early. There was something that was to important to wait," My father said pulling out of the driveway.
"What is it?" I asked staring out the the window, watching the passing objects fly bye.
"I thought that since this was going to be our permanent home here, that we should get a dog. To keep you company while I'm away at work," He said smiling.
"You waited this long to tell me!" I exclaimed.
"Well, you have been gone for a couple of days and I thought that it would be a nice surprise," He chuckled.
"I'm guessing that we're on the way there now," I asked, imagining what type of dog we were going to get.
Soon enough, we arrived at the animal shelter, my heart beating uncontrollably inside of my chest.
As we walked inside, my father and I were greeted by a staff member.
"Hi, we are looking to adopt a dog," My father said.
"Follow me right this way," The lady said.
We walked into a large room, full of multiple dog kennels. They all looked like they had so much energy.
I saw a small black dog that was chewing on a bone. I walked up to the cage slowly, holding my hand out so it could smell me.
It energetically jumped up, licking my fingers with its soft tounge.
"I think I would like this one dad," I said.
The lady unlocked the cage allowing the small dog to run around at my feet. Its barked loudly, pouncing back and forth.
"You're such a beautiful boy," I said, rubbing behind his ears.
"Would you like to adopt him?" The woman asked.
"Most definitely," My father replied.
I picked the dog up and followed the lady and my father out to the front counter.
As we walked out of the door, the dog's head was moving in almost every direction, trying to explore everything.
Once we were set in the car, the puppy fell asleep in my lap, his nose tucked underneath his tail.
As soon as we got home, he sprinted up to the front door, jumping up on his hind legs, his front paws scratching the door.
I opened the door and watched as his ran around the room, jumping on and off of the furniture.
"What should we name you?" I asked as the dog titled his head.
"Dad what should we name the puppy?" I screamed.
"Cameron, please don't yell in the house," He yelled back.
"Sorry, I picked up that habit from Toby. He screams a lot around the house," I replied.
"Well, what do you want to name him?" He asked.
"I don't know. Thats the whole reason I asked you," I said sarcasticly.
"I don't know what to name him. Charlie? I like Charlie," My father suggested.
"You look like a Charlie," I said rubbing his head.
About a half an hour later, my father ran to the pet store to get the supplies we would need for out new family member. Which would've been much smarter to do first, but things always worked out the way they needed to.
I turned the television on and watched The Umbrella Academy until my father got home again.
I unpacked all the cute little toys, playing a little bit of tug of war until I decided to go up to my room to have some alone time.
I turned on my music and out away all of the clothing that I had packed for my time spent at Tommy and Toby's house.
I love you more than all of the moons
Put together to make a giant lagoon
And I know that’s it’s dumb
‘Cause you’re just a dude
And I swore to myself to never
Again be ripped in two
But I made myself vulnerable
Down to the bone
And I simply hope
I don’t end up alone
Back to the start
With a stone-cold heart
Or rewind back to the tears and the saddest partBut I know it’s all worth it
The good and the bad
‘Cause you’re the best love
That I’ve ever had
And it’s hard for mе to say
Since it’s gone the othеr way
Before I met you on the street
On that fateful dayAnd if I marry you
Don’t believe in God but I’ll be blessed
‘Cause you are the best
Lay my head upon your chest
Love of my lifeI love you more than all of the
For together to make
A beautiful bond
I know that it's silly
'Cause you're just like me
A person still thinkin' 'bout
Who they wanna beBut you've seen my dimensions
And all of my walls
And somehow you still like me
Through it all
I know I'm annoying
'Cause I get so stressed
By things that don't matter
And you're put to the testBut you pass every time
Every rhythm and rhyme
I'll never leave you in the dust
Never get left behind
And I am so humble
Thankful to be yours
No doubts in my mind
I know I am surely sureBut if you left I'd be fine
It would really suck
But I love myself enough
Took me years to be this tough for you
Love of my lifeJust as I laid down on my bed, I heard my father knock on the door saying, "Cam, someone is here in the living room for you."
I turned off my music and walked down the stairs, my eyes immediately meeting with those of Tommy.
He held a bouquet of blue corn flowers, which happened to be my favorite in minecraft and in real life.
"Cam, would you like to use your Twitch Prime with me right now?"
