PLEASE HELP ME GET TO 500 READS!!!! ALMOST THERE YOU GUYS!!!!!

I came out of my tent, and everyone was rustling about. Bellamy had announced earlier that we were going to Mount. Weather, and people carried what they could. According to him, since it was not that far, we would be making several trips there and back to distribute all the items we currently have. Then we would talk about the people living on the ground, or the “grounders.” That was now our official word for them. He said that once we get to mount. Weather, we would be safe and protected, and they wouldn’t be able to get into the sanctuary that we were headed. Hopefully the grounders haven’t found it first, and will attack us once we get there. But I just kept that thought to myself. Bellamy was going to be head leader, everyone decided, with me in second. I thought it was a good idea, considering Bellamy was the oldest among us all and we needed order. We can’t just run around and do whatever we want. I learned that yesterday afternoon….

“Okay, everyone, can I have your attention.” Bellamy stood on a big, plastic bin a few feet off the ground, where we found all the supplies in. A few people ignored him and kept doing there jobs, but Bellamy raised his voice. “Okay, everyone stop what you’re doing. Now. We are leaving in about half an hour, so quickly gather the things that you think will be useful for the next couple of days until we can return and get everything.” Bellamy looked around, and everyone stood still; their eyes glued to him. “Now.” The other people kept moving, and continued to do their jobs. Bellamy hoped off the bin and I walked over to him.

“So…where’s Wells’ body? We are taking him with us, right?” I looked around, and I honestly had no idea where they put him. They did a good job of hiding what happened yesterday. Bellamy looked at the ground, then back up at me.

“We buried him already. That’s why I was up so late…that’s what I was doing.” I looked at him in disbelief, but inside I truly felt my heart skip a beat.

            “I…I didn’t, I didn’t get to pay my respects.”

“Well, I buried him, so…I could take you, if you want.”

“Um, yea. Please.”  He started to fast walk in one direction, and I had to practically run to keep up with him. We were like that, silent, for about five minutes until we came into a clearing. There was a big mount of dirt, long and narrow. I stopped walking and stared. My heart sank. He’s really dead…I guessed it was Wells grave…nobody else has died yet. During the walk, I gathered many different flowers and clutched them in one hand. Bellamy walked to the grave and looked down on it, then turned back at me. But I didn’t say a word neither looked at him. My eyes were glued to the grave, and I could feel drops rolling down my cheeks. His death finally, truly sank in; it was awful. Bellamy walked back up to me.

“I’m, um, gonna go…do you think you can make yourself back?” I remained silent, but nodded my head slightly. “Okay…um…remember that we are leaving soon…but…take your time. We’ll wait for you.” Again I nodded, and I could feel more tears blur my vision. I heard the footsteps from Bellamy’s feet become fainter and fainter, until I knew he was long gone. I finally made myself walk up to the grave. I fell to my knees in front of the grave and sobbed my eyes out. I can’t believe it. My best friend ever since I was liitle. And now…he’s just…gone. I wiped the tears away and positioned all the different types of flowers on the very top of the mount of dirt. I cried and cried and cried until my throat hurt. I knew that since we were leaving, I would probably never get to see him again.

“I’m so sorry Wells. I didn’t mean for you to…to die!” I cried harder than I ever did. Even harder than when my dad died. “Please forgive me. I wish I enjoyed our friendship more. Now I’m never going to get to talk to you again. You’re not going to be there for me when I need you the most. And it’s all my damn fault. If only I didn’t assault that guard…maybe I would be in space right now, taking to you. Maybe I would be having fun with you. And it’s all my fault! It’s all my fault….its all my fault….I’m so sorry Wells. I love you.”

I walked side by side, next to Monty. All the 100 was going to MountWeather, to shelter. To safety. To where we will be possibly living for the rest of our lives. No one really said anything; we just walked, silently, in a long blob of people carrying things through the woods.

“Did you know, that these flowers right here,” Monty grabbed a handful of yellow flowers with long stems, “are edible?” He swallowed them all, and chewed on them. He

Made a little squinting face, and I laughed.

            “Sour?”

He nodded and spit them out. I laughed more at this.

“Weren’t you like…the second highest in your class? I’ve heard about you.” Monty looked my way, and held up a finger.

“The first, not second.” I looked at him and smirked.

“Really?” He nodded, his floppy hair bobbing.

            “Yes. Yes I was.”

“Wow…that’s…totally believable…” He playfully shoved me.

“Hey! It took a lot. What were you, the 50th?”

            “Actually I was--”

“We’re here, everyone.” Bellamy spoke in a quiet, but loud voice. He stood proudly tall, in front of a large hill going downhill. He looked down the hill, and his eyes widened as he came back up. He quieted everyone down. “We go, single file into the sanctuary. I do not want to hear anyone say absolutely anything. Once we are all in the sanctuary, you will stay in the main area, and I will tell you all what our plan is. Understand?” I heard some murmurs among the crowd; as if no one really cared much. Bellamy nodded his head, and started down the hill, Octavia on his heels. The group slowly moved forward, and once I saw what was ahead of us, it felt like suddenly I couldn’t breathe anymore.
