And, as always, enjoy!!
More screams were let out, followed by other screams. We sprinted for about a quarter mile, when I tripped and fell.
“Ugh,” I grunted. I fell pretty hard. And I face planted. Great, just great.
“C’mon, get up princess,” Finn mumbled, panting. I finally lifted my head off the ground, only to see a silver knife plunge into the dirt a few meters from my face. Finn froze. We heard rustling in the nearby tress, and I panicked. I looked up, to discover a black object moving from tree to tree.
“Finn, um, we should go. Now.” I whispered quietly.
“Yeah,” replied Finn, looking up. “I think that’s a good idea.” I picked up the knife, and shoved it into my back pocket. He quickly and swiftly lifted me up. Again we were off into a sprint, towards the drop ship, faster this time.
The screams got louder and louder, and we finally made it back to the drop ship. Sweat covered our bodies, and we both put our hands to our knees and bent over.
“What was that?” Finn mumbled out of breath.
“More like who was that,” I replied. Even though I was tired, I stood up straight and started to jog over to where the screams were coming from. “Finn, c’mon.” Finn grunted but soon caught up with me. We jogged pretty fast, to where the screams were let out of.
When we finally caught up to the big blob of people, the screams were piercing through my ears. Finn and I pushed pass everyone and made it to the front. I got a few shoves and rude remarks, because I could see everyone trying to get to the front. Something’s happening in the middle, I thought. When I finally made it to the front, I could see Wells, dripping in sweat and blood, with a knife in his hands. I saw a girl, also in sweat and blood, trying to poke Wells with her knife. Wells was tired, and he was bleeding everywhere. The crowd was pushing him around, and the girl continued to try to stab him. Wells tried to prevent falling to the ground and tried to always back up away from the girl, because that meant game over. But she was quick. He had puncture wounds everywhere. On his arms, on his legs, in his stomach, everywhere. He was bleeding cats and dogs. He was starting to fall, and I could see he was losing to much blood. He was going to pass out, and she was going to kill him. Even though Wells is not my friend, I still had a long relationship with him and I don’t want him to get hurt.
“Stop! Stop right now! You! You!” I pointed to the girl with the knife, and she looked at me with fierce eyes. “Put the knife down. Now!” I looked to my side, and Bellamy was standing there, watching the whole thing like it was all fine. The crowd chanted “Fight! Fight! Fight!” But Bellamy did not speak a word. He just looked at Wells like he felt bad for him.
“Bellamy! Bellamy!” He finally glanced in my direction, crossing his arms. “You have to do something! You can’t just let her kill him! Do something! Make her stop!” Bellamy didn’t move or say anything, instead looked at the floor. The girl started to walk over to Wells, who now was on the floor, bleeding out. I knew that if I went for the girl, I would be dead in a minute. If Wells cant hold against her, how will I?
“Bellamy!” I walked over to him, tears in my eyes. “Do something! Do something you asshole! Now!” He didn’t move, or say anything. I pushed him into the crowd. “Bellamy! Listen to me! You have to do something!” I shoved him around, yelling at him to do something. Instead, he did nothing. The crowd chanted and yelled, and I had five seconds to make a decision, otherwise Wells is dead. If Bellamy won’t do something, I guess I have to. I ran over to the girl about to stab Wells, and I threw my body on top of hers. She collapsed, and the crowd became louder and louder. I turned over onto my back, and the girl hung over me with a knife. Damn she’s fast! She pulled her hand back, and she had a look of determination on her face. I rolled over and she stabbed the ground. Quickly I reacted. I kicked her with my leg and she fell sideways. I grabbed the knife tucked in my back pocket, and got over her body. I held down her hands with my hands and her feet with my knees. She squirmed, but she wasn’t getting out of my grasp. Oh no, she isn’t. I’m not giving her another chance to hurt me. The crowd was going wild with all of this, and many people chanted “Kill her! Kill her! Kill her!” My mind went blank and I did what the people wanted.
“This,” I said panting, “is for what you did to Wells.” I swung my hand back slowly, and she screamed.
“No! Please don’t kill me okay? I’m sorry! Please no!” Suddenly, as my hand came racing down right at her chest, I was lifted. Someone lifted me up and pulled me away from her, and Finn held down the other girl. I looked at who was carrying me away from the girl, furious, because of what she did to Wells and she had to pay. Bellamy. Damn Bellamy! He comes when I don’t need him! I squirmed and squirmed out of Bellamy’s grasp, but he held me tight.
“Bellamy! Let me go!” Bellamy put me back on the ground, and held onto my waist. He pushed me forward, and he whispered something to a guy and made me start to walk back towards the drop ship. As we started to walk back, the guy that Bellamy whispered something to yelled something to the crowd, and everyone started to walk back. I heard some “Boo’s” and “you suck.” I tried everything to get out of Bellamy’s reach and finish what I started. I tried kicking him, punching him, and I tried talking his fingers off of my waist. But he wouldn’t let go. He moved his hands onto the side of my ribs and started to press very hard. I screamed.
“Just stop trying to get out of my hands, and I’ll stop pressing. Deal?” I shook my head and he relaxed his grasp. The tears started to pour out of my eyes.
“Bellamy, let me go! Bellamy!” He wouldn’t let me go, and suddenly reality struck. Wells! “Bellamy, what about Wells? I-I can save him! My mom was a doctor on the Ark and I’ve watched her do procedures! He’ll die! Please Bellamy! He doesn’t have much time left! Please let me go back and help him!” Bellamy did not say anything, and a boy came running up to Bellamy.
“Monty, what the hell do you want?”
“Well um…” He leaned in and whispered something into Bellamy’s ear. Suddenly, a wave of sadness washed over Bellamy. Monty, the boy, looked disappointed and just stood there. Bellamy put his head down and his grasp on my waist tightened.
“Ow! Bellamy?” I looked at him weirdly, as if asking, “What’s going on?”
“Okay. Thank you for telling me, Monty. I’ll let her know. You go.” Monty began to jog back, and people began to crowding in the area near the drop ship, confused at what they should be doing.
“I laid a pile of supplies that I found inside the drop ship right here.” Bellamy yelled, and he caught everyone’s attention. He pointed to a pile of a bunch of supplies. Water containers, blankets, and a lot of red materials that looked like tarps. “Grab what you need, and start making what we will from now on call home. Make a fort. Gather sticks. You can use only a small portion of the tarps, but you can use any natural resources desired. And no one, again I repeat, NO ONE is to come into the drop ship. Am I clear?” Everyone nodded their heads and began working. Bellamy dragged me into the drop ship, and sat me down on a chair and he sat across from me. He sat down, and he folded his hands and kept opening his mouth and then closing it, as if trying to decide what to say.
“Well, why you figure out what you want to say, I’m going to help Wells.” I got up and sprinted towards the door, but Bellamy was fast. He grabbed my hands and pinned them behind my back.
“Bellamy! I’m wasting valuable time that I could be using to help Wells! Let me go!”
“No, Clarke, you are not wasting time.” Again, he made me sit down but instead, he crouched right next to me.
“Just spit it out already Bellamy. What happened?” Bellamy looked at the ground, but then lifted his head and looked at me straight in the eye.
“I’m sorry, Clarke. Wells is dead.”
