It was her 9th nameday. Been 5 years since she was taking care of her family. Her father was devastated, much distanced between his children than before. But everyone was recovering.

Now the Starks were waiting at their gate to welcome the Dornish prince, Oberyn Martell. With his sister princess Elia.

Oh, by the old gods, the Dornish carriages were nothing like what she had seen before, full of exotic gems and gold. She had heard of the Red Viper, a title which brought Oberyn to the northlands, as a punishment for killing a Nobel lord.

"The North is truly fucked up." the prince exclaimed as he got down.

"Please Ob, that's not what you say the second you get down. Remember what I have thought you about being nice?" said the girl who came behind him, dark haired and purple eyes

"Uh... nothing?" Oberyn shrugged off and went to greet our father, and both talked in excited hushed tones, seems like they have already met before, she thought.

"I apologize for him, I am Elia, and this is my friend Ashara Dayne." The Princess introduced themselves, to Valarie.

" Hello, Welcome to Winterfell." Valarie greeted back.

Maybe the first day the two families met, it seemed that Martell's were going to have a hard time, spending at Winterfell.

Well, ateast to Oberyn. He seemed so very persistent that he was living in hell. But that lasted for around a week, untill Valarie dragged him out on snow and made him sledge through the thick layer of Ice. Ashara too eventually joined pulling Ned from his lessons at library, they had grown close somehow, it was a suprise for Valarie to see her little brother to warm ap to someone who wasn't a Stark.

But here were they, two moons later sitting near the Godswood tree, on a cold night.

"I am so disappointed, the wet nurses tell tales about the barbaric wildlings, the white walkers and the monsters of the north and here I am, who has not seen a single dangerous thing."Oberyn whined. "Then there are you Starks, who wouldn't miss a chance to say 'winter is coming'" he imitated using a really bad northern accent.

"That's because we have the wall, the night's watch protects from the foul creatures beyond the wall!" Lyanna said as she jumped on Valarie's lap.

"Besides," Valarie stated, "Winter is coming."

Oberyn groaned at reply and everyone bursted laughing.

Elia suddenly asked, "Ned is going off to the Eyrie soon and Bran is off to the Borrowtown, where do you think you father will send you? It would be really good if you come with a us to Dorne."

Of course, father did tell she needs to foster away somewhere soon, but didn't decide yet. Right now, she thought, she needs to enjoy every second with her family friends and home.
