Chapter 22

Athena

Since I left I have had to learn how to sleep when I can. Ryn wasn't a laid back child she was satan. She didn't want to be put down and always wanted to be in arms. She cried and it got to the point where I was crying too. Luckily, I had Jack there and that's how she became a daddy's girl. She woke up early so that means that I am up early. I quickly got out of bed and slipped some clothes on to hurry to their room. She was asleep last night so she will wake up in a weird place. I got to their room and she was on her iPad watching some show. "Hey let's go eat." She looked back at me and just rolled her eyes. "Ryena! I will take that Ipad away. You need to stop with this attitude or I will send daddy away for a whole week. I had enough of this." She plopped out of bed and followed me out the door. We went down to the kitchen and luckily no one was there. Karina was very independent so she liked to do things herself. Which would explain why she is already out exploring and doing her own thing. I poured some cereal for Ryn for her to eat and poured me some too. "Can we go home?" She asked. I wish I could say yes but it's not fair. "Soon, we got a party tonight. And you haven't met all of your Uncles. One of them in the Alpha of this pack." I tried to make it sound so exciting but she saw right through my crap as usual. She was my daughter. Footsteps could be heard coming downstairs. It didn't take a genius to know who it was.

I placed my head down waiting for an acknowledgment. "Good morning. And it's nice to meet you Ryn." Her head propped up like she was happy to see him. Even though she has never met him. "You met me already though." We both looked at each other and then her. "Ryn, you never met him. This is your Uncle Vin." Vincent had a strange look on his face and honestly, we both were just as confused. "I met him in my dreams. He'd play with me and take me on rides on the black wolf." He had mouthed to me how did she know and what was going on. But even I didn't know. "Good Morning." I heard a voice say. It was a female. She bowed her head to me. "Good Morning, Moon Goddess." I looked at her weirdly and then looked at Vincent's guilty face. "You must be Marissa, I was wondering if I was ever going to meet you. I am Athena, and this is Jack's and my daughter Ryn." She eyed us both and didn't say a word. "Alright Ryn, we should go. I have things to do." I quickly washed our bowls since he was a neat freak and dragged her out of the packhouse. This was the most awkward moment I have ever been apart of. Walking out I ran straight into a body. "Hey, where are you off to in a rush?" Jack said. "Take Ryn, I will be right back." I darted off from the area and shifted into my wolf and rushed out of eye existence.

Vincent

I told Marissa about Athena last night and she was jealous. She got insecure but she had to understand why I couldn't be with her. Why Athena and I couldn't be together. She did understand but she felt like she had to compete with her. Ryn had said something weird and it made me wonder about a lot of things. But since telling Marissa she had gotten really possessive over me. She thinks Athena has some kind of agenda to get me back when we know that isn't the truth and I had no idea what she was planning either. But when she came down I already saw the shift in things. She was staking her claim and now I had to keep Marissa and Athena away from each other before someone ends up dead. Marissa was the fighter but the Moon Goddess had mind powers and can make you wish you were dead. She cannot die until after the host has left or once she steps down. I knew she was waiting until her sister was old enough to take over. But we'll be old and she has already found love in Jack. Even though a part of her will always remain with me. I see it. I felt it when our arms had touched and that feeling I had never felt. Not even with Marissa. My wolf was drawn to her wolf. She was beautiful. Marissa had dark skin and it was beautiful. She had these beautiful plump lips. Not to mention she was curvy. She wasn't what wolves were usually but it was beautiful and I loved every curve. But she wasn't Athena. The girl who challenged me and liked to play games. I missed when I'd feel Athena staring at me and she just wanted to talk. We were able to form such an amazing emotional bond that sex wasn't needed. Hell first time killed half this state. But it was magical. Athena just had so many new qualities that I fell for. There were times I was stuck in the office with paperwork and she'd sit in there with her phone or computer and it would be silent all because she just wanted to be around me. She hid it but she was also very ticklish between her shoulder blades. She loves munching on ice even though I hated it. She hated training but she came even to watch just so she can support me. It was things like that I appreciated and it made the physical touches even better. Her soft lips. By then Athena left the room with Ryn and it was just Marissa and me. "You had no right to share that even to her. I don't know what game you're playing but this ends now. She has a family to protect and you're trying to make things harder to protect." Her eyebrow twitched with annoyance. "You mean she is raising your daughter with your brother?" My eyes traveled back to her in distaste. "Stop putting your nose and your lies where it doesn't belong. I will have you banished if you ignore my demands." Her eyebrows formed to show she was mad. But it shut her up and she left which was for the best. She is pressing buttons on purpose. I also know that this won't be the last of her shenanigans.
