Athena

I took this time to look at the area. I found my club that was abandoned since I have been gone. I mean I did own the place. I walked inside and everything was dusty but it was still the same. It's been a while since I've danced and I don't know if it was the fact I didn't have the stamina as I once did. I went to my old office and found that I still have clothing and my back up pair of platforms. I can at least get one dance out of me before I return back to the life of a mom. I quickly changed into them which were just some tight booty shorts and a halter top. Collected a little dust but not so much since they are in a locker. I was surprised that I still had anything here for me. After strapping in my shoes I walked over to see if the Dj station still worked. To my surprise it did. The lights still worked. I climbed onto the stage imagining things were like they were. The crowd was cheering me on and men had their lusty looks at me ready to hand me their wallets if I asked them. Bring myself up by holding the pole I let my head hang back. I soaked it all in as I slid up and down the pole with tricks only I knew of. What I trained women to do. I bent down with my ass in the air and slowly began to shake my ass like there was a man there to put their dollars in. I wrapped my ankle around the pole and pushed myself towards it. I missed this life where I had no other duties but of my own. Could everything go back to normal? I mean I didn't know any witches or warlocks so it made it nearly impossible even with the power I held. I was nothing but a wolf with a cupid's bow.

"You look good up there." I turned around to see Jack staring at me which almost made me fall. He had a smile on his face and it's because this is what he enjoyed when he came here. "Do you remember the first time I met you?" I sat on the stage with my legs hanging. "Yeah you came in here to tell me how much I degraded what the women were like around here." He chuckled to himself. "Then you told me I was too quick to judge. You grabbed my hand and assisted me to the private room and you had me hooked. Brings me to the time we had our first kiss and I could've sworn I was going insane being the one kissing stripper. But all it took was one kiss to realize I had no issue with the job. I had an issue with you dancing for other men. That's why I came as often as I could. So it was only me." I let my lips form a smile just recalling the events. "Did you think this is where we'd be?" I shook my head. "I honestly thought you were going to meet your mate and I'd stop seeing you. But I enjoyed it when you came in, you made things less sucky. Saved me from having to deal with all of that." Jack walked over to me and placed a kiss on my forehead. He was in a battle with himself. "Athena, do you want to be with Vincent?" I looked up at his puppy dog eyes that made my heart crash. "Even if I did I can't, and you know that. I am happy with our life and our family and I wouldn't trade it for anything." I replied back to him. He let a deep breath show. "There is a way to break this curse. I figured it out recently so for when the day you changed your mind." I looked at him curiously. "What is the way?" He sat down next to me and put his arm around me. "We kill off your host and it transfers to Karina." I stood up and broke from his embrace.

"Jack, Karina is only 10 years old. She is too young to be deciding anyone's fate. You think I want to pass this curse to her when she has a chance?" He reached out for my hand. "The curse gets broken, she wouldn't have to worry about it. This isn't the 1700's she would be in charge of what she does. Shall she find a mate that is utterly her choice? Unlike you where you don't have a choice." I met him between his legs and looked down at his face. "I love you and I want you. But a part of me is always feeling like I am your second choice. What if the curse didn't exist in 6 months you would have been his. I am not a selfish person but I need to know that you are in for love and not because your host says you have to." My hands met his neck as I looked at the part that would keep my mark forever if he returned it. "I need to know this is real Athena." A tear fell my eyes onto his head because he was right. It wasn't fair to him to have a mate who is holding onto someone she can't have. Things would've been different if I didn't wipe out wolves. "Keeping my host has made me see things from a different perspective. It isn't fair to you. I understand that. But I don't imagine anything else. Let's complete the marking when we get home." His eyes stared into mine with hope and love and I don't think I could ever fully let him go. I don't need a curse to tell me otherwise. He has been my rock from the beginning and maybe Vincent was just a phase that needed to pass. I was ready for it to pass by breaking our bond and it starts soon. In front of our pack. The point of this was to choose who holds my heart. I am a woman with a choice and a mating bond won't change that. And maybe it's time for the Moon Goddess to stop deciding who we love and let everyone choose for themselves. I was going to make a choice starting today. The mating festival was tonight but this is going to be a different one where I abandon them. Many people are going here and it'll spread fast. No more mates, just choices.
