Inuyasha Kagome's blazing passion

One final battle

"How could you do that to Kagome!? You should be grovelling at her feet!" Koga screams.

Ahren allowed a slight chuckle to escape through the cracks of his lips, finding that statement to be an amusing one. He pointed to Kagome and continued his grin.

"That girl... Is needed dead or alive" he says. "Her heart is where the power is contained... If I Am able to devour such a thing, I shall have my wish granted"

"Wish...?"

"Immortality, boy" Ahren answers. Koga's bottom lip dropped slightly. He looked at Kagome in horror.

"Devour her heart and gain the jewls powers, only to have your stupid wish granted?" Koga growls. "I will never give Kagome up to the likes of you! I will obtain the antidote!"

"Hmph" Ahren flicked his pointer finger upwards, chanting as he did so. "Those whom have long since passed and that wish to live, rise at once to serve me!"

Once those words left his lips, monstrous beings began to rise from their graves, no longer appearing in the afterlife.

Koga stepped back, tightly hugging Kagome as the zombies approached. He whistled as loud as possible, calling forth his brethren.

"No matter what!" He shouts as his pack of wolves arrive. "Kagome is top priority! Show no mercy!"

"Inu....yasha..."

Koga gave her a single glance as he wiped away the beads of sweat, rolling down her flawless cheeks.

"I understand"

Koga had his eyes glued shut, as he inhaled a single breath. At once, the wolf opened his eyes and shouted at the top of his lungs...

"INUYASHA!!"

The open land echoed his name. Animals fled their homes, startled by the sudden outburst, while Koga just stared up at the sky, with Kagome still tightly wrapped in his arms.

"I-Inu..y-yasha..." Kagome whispers.

"Don't worry" Koga says in a reassuring manner. "There is no way that idiot didn't hear me"

"Inuyasha! You better have heard me!"

..........

"Oh I heard you alright! Thanks, Koga!"

Inuyasha dashed ahead, having Sesshomaru following close behind. Inuyasha noticed his brother hot on his tail and grinned.

"Heh. Helping out, aye?" Inuyasha asks.

"As I have said once before.. I will not allow Ahren to touch Kagome while she possesses such power"

Sesshormau turned his cheek the other way, as he continued to tail him from behind. Inuyasha snickered soon to laugh loudly.

"Yeah, right" he scoffs, while grinning. "You just don't want to admit that you have a thing for my fiance"

"As I recall, she was your "former" finance, correct?-"

"Oh shut up" he interrupted. Smirking no more. Sesshomaru sighs, quickening his pace.

The bloody battle continued. Ahren rose to the challenge, having lost no men, while one by one did Koga's brethren fall.

"No!" His high pitched cries screamed pain and horror. Koga ran to another Wolf's aide, but sadly, nothing could be done. He fell... Silently, breathing coming to an end.

"These monsters of his! I strike them down, but they just merge back together.... And Kagome!"

He looked down at her, she who laid behind him, resting peacefully. He blinked twice in surprise as he swore he saw a purple aura, just lingering around her.

Koga rubbed his eyes and rapidly blinked. When he looked at her for the second time, the strange power had vanished, as if it were carried away by the wind.

"This castle is protected by magic... Anyone whom chooses to approach it, the barrier will melt their skin into their flesh. Surrender the girl, and I shall spare you the rest of your pups, and because I admire your bravery, I will bring forth the deseased" was what Ahren declared.

If Koga's eyes widened anymore, they would have popped out of his skull. He noticed his dying comrades, and was shattered at the sight.

"Oh very well..."

He darts his gaze onto the weakened Kagome, who rose from her knees. This time, the aura stalking her every movement.

"Kagome...."

"So if I go with you into that castle, you promise to bring back all the lives of those whom Koga lost?"

"I promise you... And as a gentleman, allow me to reassure you now, that I never break my promises" Ahren answers as response to her question, with a cross to the heart, and a polite bow.

Kagome just grins. Nothing else visible but the lower part of her face as her sweetened smile curled upwards into a sick, and twisted grin. Her head hung low with her hair covering her eyes.

"I think not!" Before Koga could be warned, within that very moment Koga sprung forward at Ahren, who had built a protecting barrier around himself also.

Ahren, who had grown rather bored with the wolf, raised his hand and faced the palm out to Koga, having a dark portal appeared, a portal that swallowed the half wolf whole.

Kagome laughs, inching forward, closer to Ahren. Her once moose brown eyes, turned bitter, taking the cold colour of poison.

She extended her arm to him and stoked his. The gentleness of her fingernails slightly scraping against his skin. He was forced to stare as her eyes pierced through his heartless soul.

"The gems power has been poisoned!" Ahren gasped. "Though not by my poison, this poison is much older..... Much more powerful"

"This power belongs to..."

"Certainly not I" the strange man announced. That same man that appeared with the god like bull many times.

"You!"

"It belongs to.... My true master"

The air around them grew tense for a moment. Kagome's eyes melted into a nasty glare. While Ahren, and that man stood still, wearing outfits that shrouded them in mystery.

"Kagome!!"

Their attention flew towards Inuyasha and Sesshomaru, who came bursting on the scene. Sesshomaru noticed the poison  which could obviously be seen coursing through her veins, and glared at Ahren who was staring back at him.

Both Inuyasha and Kagome stared, as Lord Ahren released Koga from the dark abyss that once bind him. However, not as he once was, but as a mindless puppet, waiting to abide by the puppeteers every command.

"Well then. Gentlemen, Malady..." Snickers Ahren. "Shall we begin?"
