"Only few Lords remain! Prince Enkai of the Elven tribe, come forth!"

Enkai stepped forward, and kneeled before the King of the high court. He was glued to the thrown which he sat in, unable to move due to his condition.

"A new threat has risen!" The King boomed. "His name is unknown, however his image, by the power which I possess, shall be burnt into your minds!"

"This man... What is he after?"

The King glanced down at him and grinned. "A woman..." He said whilst licking his lips maliciously.

"The heart of one mere human.."

This caused Enkai to become stiff. Shivers raced down his spine as he stared at the ground beneath his feet.

"How shall we resolve this issue, Master?" Inquires Enkai.

"How else? We must kill the threat? She who holds the sacred power within"

"Kill the threat...? Kagome, this better not be you!"

...............

Months passed and Enkai still hadn't returned. The King had sent the high elf off on an important mission, to find the girl and bring her to the high court for execution.

Knowing all too well who that "human" was, the Prince sent himself far away, a distance where both Kagome and the village would be safe.

As those months passed, Kagome's skill level was increased remarkably. Her skills were referred to as the "Shield" of the village.

"You are quite the heart slayer, boy" Kagome laughs.

Currently, Kagome sits high up in the trees, feet constantly swinging off from the tree branch. She laughed with Hakkai, as he too sat in the tree tops.

"You think so?" He chuckles back. "She is beautiful, no doubt..."

"But...?"

Hakkai's smile grew faint. He was the spitting image of the Prince, Godly features, a ponytail filled with gold. A charming smile also.

The difference between them though, remained as clear as their night sky.

Although Enkai seems cold from the front, he is warm, and kind hearted on the inside. Hakkai... Was nothing more then decieving cover on the front of a novel. A boy shrouded in mystery.

Hakkai was someone who faked the kindness he displayed, though he did not hide such things well, for Kagome saw straight through him.

"She is no rose amoung buds" was his answer. "Although she shared with me her feelings, I cannot deny that I my heart wishes to stay away"

"Such a poetic boy at that" Kagome sighs, though only in thought.

"She is the ideal lover for the young men in this village" Kagome smiles, but Hakkai shook his head.

"How incorrect you are, Miss Kagome" he sneers. "There is only one woman of whom the men of this village wishes to hold"

"Oh?"

"And that is you, a rose among buds they claim"

"Oh!" Startled, Kagome almost allowed herself to fall off the branch, if not for Hakkai who quickly steadied her by supporting her back.

Hakkai chuckled in amusement at such clumsiness. He smiled kindly at her, but then decided to mention the cloak, the reason why they were having a discussion in the first place.
