Chapter Seventeen

"You won't regret this, I promise!" he says smiling bright. "You better not cause this is your last chance Gillespie, you know that." he sighs, "Yeah, yeah, yeah I know." I look up at him staring into his eyes. "Shouldn't you get back to set?" his smile drops immediately. "Oh shit, you're right. Uhm i'll see you later?" he asks rushing to grab his stuff. I nod signaling for him to leave my trailer. He laughs at me one last time before he runs out of the door to set.

Silence fills the little space i'm in it gives me some time to think about.. well everything that's been happening lately. Not to be dramatic, but my life turned upside down ever since Kenny called. Don't get me wrong, i'm so thankful for the opportunity. It's just that it all happened so fast and I haven't had the time to think about it. Don't even get me started on the Charlie situation. At least he sincerely apolagized and i'm glad he did. I don't know if i'd be able to keep ignoring him for months and i'm pretty sure it wouldn't have made either of us happy.

Madison comes walking in. "Uhm I don't think you've noticed, but fifteen minutes passed and you're kinda the one who's supposed to make sure we're at the right place at the right time." she says scratching her neck. I jump up out of my chair. Why do I always let my thoughts get the best of me? "Shit, okay fill me in Mads." she rests her hands on my shoulders making me calm down. "Don't freak out, okay? You didn't even miss that much." i let out a soft breath. "Charlie ran around like an idiot, but he's rehearsing right now.. I hope." that made me giggle a little, he seems to be really happy with what I told him. "The rest of us pretty much know our schedules by heart so you don't have to worry about that. It's just more fun with you around so I came looking for you." i smile at her grabbing my stuff. "Thank you for that. I wouldn't want to miss out on you guys rehearsing. So what's next?" i ask her swinging my arm around her shoulder. "Welll I was about to rehearse my solo song 'Wake Up'. Do you wanna join me?" "Are you serious? Of course I want to."

Halfway throughout the song I notice tears forming in her eyes. I have no clue whether she's acting or not so when she finishes the song I walk up to her just to make sure she's doing okay. "Everything okay?" she stares at me with a confused look on her face. "Why wouldn't I be? I wasn't actually crying if that's what you were thinking." i scoff, "Pff of course not. I was totally aware that you were acting." "Nah she wasn't." i hear a voice behind me say. Madison smiles at me nudging my arm to turn around. I do as i'm 'told' only to be met by Owen.

"What do you want weirdo?" he places a hand on his hip. "What a way to greet your bestfriend?" i mimic his pose, "Oh I didn't know we were 'bestfriends'." "Don't lie to me.. we have been ever since we met." he says 'shocked'. "Thanks for informing me then bestie." i say now laughing as Owen does the same. He's right though, we clicked the second we met. I feel like he's gonna be the big brother I never had. I just hope he doesn't get to overprotective over me. "What's going on in that little head of yours bub?" my thoughts took over for the second time today as he makes me realize i've been staring at air for I don't even know how long. "Oh uhh nothing I was thinking about us." he furrows his eyebrows. "Us?" "Yeah in a good way. I guess you were right about what you said, but don't get too overprotective, okay?" "I can't promise anything." he says unsure grinning at me. I slap his arm in repsonse. "Owen!!" "Ohw that hurts." "I know that was my intention." "Damn I have to make sure to stay on your goodside." "That's right. I may look innocent, but I can be intimidating when I want to be." "Yeah I noticed." he says agreeing with me.

He hooks his arm with mine and walks towards the recording studio. "Why are you taking me there?" "The boys, Mads and I are gonna record 'Bright' I thought you'd might wanna join." i look up at him smiling. "Course I do."
