"What the hell are you doing in this school!"
The pink hair girl ask with a sharp glare and she does scares me shirtless. But she seems to be familiar...i wonder where i meet this girl.
"You still didn't answer my question!" She raise her voice.
"Beats me, my mother sent me here and the principal agrees it, that's all i know. If you wanna know, ask the principal"
The pink hair let out a sigh and starts scrolling her phone while eating onigiri. I don't know why she speak like she knows me and het face is mad like i had a beef with her. A green hair girl slide her chair closer to me and she look at me with a smile.
"How rude of us, we should introduce ourselves. I'm Shimizu Esora"
"I'm Sasago Jennifer Yuka! Nice to meet you"
"My name is Yamate Kyoko"
"...."
The pink hair girl scrolling through her phone without saying a word. Seriously she looks familiar and i can't picture myself to remember her.
"Forgive us for her behavior. Her name is Inuyose Shinobu" Yamate-san said.
"You don't have to be so formal with us, you can call us by our names" Esora said while winking
Inuyose Shinobu....that name is very familiar but i can't quite remember it. I have so many things in my mind until i forgot almost half of my unimportant things.
"So..what are you listening to?" Yuka ask
"Music..."
"Is it a DJ song? Can i hear it too?" Kyoko ask
"Kinda...and yes you can"
I unplugged the earphone and the music plays with a medium volume enough for 5 of us to hear it clearly.
All of them except shinobu, listening to the song and their faces are confused and awe at the same time. That's exactly my face when i listen to it for the first time too..
"This song feels like past and future at the same time.." kyoko said
"It's just like you live in the 80s but in a future.."
"What kind of song is this?" Esora ask while sliding nearer to me.
"That's called Synthwave...The only music that he listens to" Shinobu suddenly interrupts
"Ooo...wait, how did you know what he listens to?" Esora ask with a surprise
"Seriously? Are you really forgot about me?!" Shinobu ask with a glare
All eyes on me now as they demand an answer especially yuka and esora. Shinobu still glare at me and she looks mad. I'm still trying to think on who is she to me and finally shinobu sigh.
"Ao is my Ex-boyfriend" with one word from shinobu, i finally remembers all of it.
"Eh....EEEEEHHHHH??!!" all three of them screaming in disbelief.
"Ah! I remember you now!" I was also disbelief.
"Ao! What's the meaning of this!" Yuka yells
"I didn't know that you and shinobu were couples!" Esora said with a pale face.
"Please explain!" Kyoko ask
"Me and shinobu were...couples, back when we were a first year in middle school. We've met online after she posted her song in social media" i explain halfway.
"He's always gave me advice on how to be a DJ a proper way and his advice were helpful. We've met face to face at one of the music store and our relationship started as a friend and then turns into couples" shinobu explains the other half.
"Advice? That means he's a DJ too?" Kyoko ask
"Correct, his stage name is DJ Blue, and he's a Master of Synthwave" shinobu answered
"DJ blue? That fits with his name. And also, Synthwave?" Esora ask
"Synthwave, or otherwise known as Outrun or Retrowave that is an electronic music microgenre. Basically a common user of Synthersizer and it was famous around the 80s" i give a simple explain
"And this guy used an old Vinyl turntable, launchpad and a synthesizer" shinobu said.
"So you basically are fond in retro music, i like that" kyoko said.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Shinobu glares.
"Oh nothing...hey, we could use your advice on DJ!"
"No thanks, kyoko. I already stop DJing" i shake my head
"Eh! But why?" Esora ask
"No one enjoys the synthwave this days and i have no mood to play DJ anymore"
"You know dubstep, why don't you just change the genre?" Shinobu ask
"I'm not good in dubstep as i did with synth, so i pass on that"
"You never changed, that is the first reason why i break up with you"
"Eh, what happened?" Yuka ask
"Ao never try to change himself and stick to what he thinks is right. That is one thing i can tolerate" shinobu kept scrolling her phone.
"Hey, how about we invite him to our performance after school? Maybe you can see how we did on a stage" kyoko ask
"All of you in a DJ group?" I ask
"Yes, we are Peaky P-key!" Esora said in happy face.
"Sure...why not, i will see your performance" i nod at them.
"Perfect, come to the concert hall 3 after school, and we're show you how we're done with our performance" kyoko said
"Alright then..."
The bell rings and that signals us that the lunch time are over. Peaky P-key excuse themselves as they need to get back to class and that leaves me....with shinobu.
"Listen here, i don't know why you got transfered here, consider this a warning. Don't bring your stupid attitude or cause trouble here. Do i make myself clear?" Shinobu said
"Loud and clear...Ex!" I mock her a bit.
She turns around and start walking, but she stop halfway and i can see she lower her head a bit. I don't know why, but her voice sounds...sorrowful.
"You used to be a great guy to me. I'm sorry if i had to make a wrong decision. I have to obey my grandpa"
"It's okay, like i said back then. Family comes first, and i was the bottom of your list"
"It breaks me that i had to left you without my will...and i have to lied to my friends just to make you like a bad guy here"
"Me too....i was told to forget about you, probably that caused me to forgot everything"
Shinobu left me and she walk out from cafeteria. I return to my class while thinking about my moments with her. Looks like past is a past and what's done is already done. As i enter my class, i sit beside aimoto who looks guilty and a bit sad. Hmm....i wonder why?
Anyway, i was invited to watch Peaky P-key's performance after school, and i'm hoping to see how shinobu's group are like on stage.
