"Shit, shit, shit!" I swore out loud as I fumbled, trying to catch all the coins I had somehow managed to allow to fall out of my pockets. "Oh, for fucks sake." I groaned, probably too loudly for a public place, as I was forced to put down my heavy suitcase and kneel on the concrete, having to individually pick up each coin with my gloved hands.

"Allow me to help." A man's voice spoke up. I turned my head in the direction the voice had come from, and was faced with a tall, scruffy looking man. He was quite handsome, though, the scruffiness seemed to suit him. His eyes were the first thing I noticed. They were the colour of honey and when you looked in them, you felt safe and warm, like you could trust them with your life. His hair was a medium brown shade, surprisingly (As the rest of him seemed relatively young) with a few visible flecks of grey around the edges. The left side of his face was almost covered in scars, some even being long enough to reach the base of his neck and I assumed he had them over the rest of his body too as I also spotted a small scar on his right hand.

"Thank you." I smiled at the man as he bent his knees and lowered himself to join me on the ground. He helped me until we were sure we had found every last one, then he handed me the coins he had recovered and I stuffed them back into my pocket, making certain to zip it up properly this time.

"I'm Professor Lupin." He introduced himself, holding out his hand. "The new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts." A hint of pride lingered in his tone when he announced this to me.

"Mercy Sparks. It's a pleasure to meet you, Sir." I said, shaking his outstretched hand. "Thank you, for helping me. Butterfingers and all." He smiled a gentle smile at me, the corners of his eyes crinkling slightly and his ears lifting a little as he did so. I smiled back at him, deciding I liked his smile. It was quite lovely.

We chatted to each other for a while and I learned that he, too, used to attend Hogwarts as a child and had been hoping to secure a teaching position here since he had left. That was something we had in common, I supposed. The Hogwarts Express train arrived shortly and Professor Lupin made a point to open the carriage door for me to let me go through first. I laughed at this and joked "I see chivalry isn't dead." To which he rewarded me with a chuckle and another one of his lovely smiles.

"I should really go and find my friends now. Thank you so much, again, for helping."

"Of course, anytime." He said. We parted ways and walked off in opposite directions. My friends usually situated themselves at the back of the train, whilst he opted to be nearer to the front, apparently.

It didn't take me long to hear the loud laughter of Fred and George, followed by the sound of Hermione Granger asking them to "Quieten down a little, would you?" I walked into the compartment they were in and grinned. I had missed this.

"Hello, lovely people." I announced to the small room. They all instantly turned to look at me: Fred, George, Hermione, Harry and Luna. They all beamed back at me and came to greet me, showering me in hugs and kisses (Mainly kisses from Luna). We all caught up quickly and discussed our summer holidays and how much we had missed each other and, of course, Hogwarts, before I managed to bring up the new professor. I informed them of what had happened and how we met, cringing at my clumsiness.

"Don't tell me," Fred spoke after I had finished relaying the story, "Mercury's in love with a teacher."

"That is such a you thing, Mercy." George joined in, slapping me on the leg. I laughed at them.
