Mercy
After our encounter with Lupin and then Snape, me and the girls wandered off to the common room, where we had all agreed to meet after the feast. As expected, everyone else was already there, waiting for us in a circle on the floor. Fred sat closest to the fire place, as he always complained it was too cold, no matter the weather, with George to his right. The there was Ron next to George and Harry next to Ron. I took my place to the left of Fred, whilst Ginny sat herself next to Harry, and Hermione situated in between us.
"You guys were ages." Harry stated the obvious, as always.
"We got caught up." I replied, sharing a knowing grin with the other two girls.
"Right, now that they're finally here, can we please check our timetables?" George asked, frustrated. We each picked up the piece of parchment with our name on from the table and proceeded to compare our lessons with each other.
"I have Defence Against the Dark Arts first thing tomorrow, if you do?" Fred asked, looking at me.
"I do. Sit with me in that then?" I asked and he smiled and nodded back.
I only had one lesson with Hermione and Ginny this year and that was advanced potions. Even though they were in the year below, they both took advanced potions this year instead of normal potions.
Suddenly George stood up and walked over to a cleverly concealed dresser behind a painting. We all watched in curiosity as he reached under neath the dresser, pulling out a secret compartment. In the secret compartment, there were two very large bottles of fire whiskey which he reached for and held up for us all to see, a wide grin on his face.
"Now, how's about our tradition of truth or dare on the first day back?" He asked us all. Me, Ginny and Fred cheered while Hermione, Harry and Ron groaned.
"I'll go first!" Ginny practically yelled, lunching for one of the bottles. "Fred," She said, taking a swig from the bottle and then passing it to him. "Truth or dare?" She asked.
He scoffed and replied "Truth."
"Okay..." Ginny began when Ron leaned over and whispered something in her ear. Fred raised an eyebrow at them and gulped down som of the fire whiskey as an evil smirk grew on Ginny's face.
"Who do you like, Fred?" She asked him. A horrified look spread on his face and I heard him swallow loudly before speaking again. "Dare." He said, in barely a whisper.
"Okay," Ginny replied, her evil smirk still placed firmly on her face. "I dare you, to kiss Mercy!" His face went tomato red as he faced me.
"Is that okay?" He asked.
"Sure, it's just a game." I replied, shrugging my shoulders. I had put on an unbothered front but, strangely, I was actually a bit nervous. I saw him lean closer to my face and then his soft lips touched mine. I closed my eyes, leaning into the kiss a bit more. It was... nice. No fireworks went off or anything crazy, but he was a good kisser. Suddenly, we both heard Harry clear his throat loudly, pulling both me and Fred back to reality. We pulled away from the kiss and I opened my eyes, looking at George, who now had one eyebrow raised and an accusatory look etched onto his face.
"Well, Fred's turn." I announced, trying to diffuse the weird tension.
"Right," he said, his eye's narrowing. "George, truth or dare?"
The game carried on for a while, all of us getting gradually tipsier by the second, as the bottles got passed around the group continuously. It eventually go to the point where we were all so drunk, every single truth and every single dare seemed absolutely hilarious, no matter how awful it was. I glanced at the big clock on the wall and saw it was just gone midnight. Shit, curfew was over an hour ago. Usually I would've gone to bed straight away, but at this point, I was too intoxicated to even care. We all were, apparently, because we had all seemed to forgotten that other students and teachers existed, as we were all shouting and laughing like maniacs, probably waking up everyone in the castle.
"Okay, okay, Mercy, truth or dare?" Hermione asked me, slurring her words.
I laughed, obviously finding her voice hysterical and replied "The one that's not dare. If you can even do maths, Mione. Bet you can't."
"If you had to sleep with one boy in the castle right now who would it be?" She asked, everyone laughed.
"Me or Fred, obviously." George interrupted, before I even had the chance to answer. "We are the most handsome one's at Hogwarts, after all." We were all laughing so much at the thought that Fred and George could be the most attractive men here, none of us heard or noticed the door open.
"Nope." I stuttered out in my drunken state, "It would have to be that new professor of ours, Lupin. I'd fuck him any day."
"Daddy issues!" The twins chanted in unison.
"Don't judge me, Fred, you'd fuck the shit out of him too, if you could!" We all laughed and Fred giggled, shrugging his shoulders in agreement.
"It's past curfew." A loud voice said behind us, making us all jump out of our skin. We turned to see an amused Professor Lupin.
"Shit." I said, accidentally out loud. If I had been sober at this point, I would've apologised as much as I could and apart from that kept my mouth shut so I didn't make it worse. Unfortunately, I was the opposite of sober so I said "You know, Sir, you need to stop catching me talking about you. It's not the only thing I talk about, I promise."
He raised an eyebrow at me "Language." He said. "Everyone to your dorms, now. Not you Miss Sparks." I froze in my tracts and inwardly died inside a little, my eyes widening.
"Your lucky day." I heard Fred mutter as they all left me alone, with Lupin. I faced the Professor, unsure of what to expect. Though I knew I was in trouble, I wasn't sure if it was for being up past curfew, being drunk or saying I'd fuck him.
"Please forgive me for thinking you initiated this situation with your friends, but I can only go off of what I saw and heard." He explained. I nodded, understanding. It was fair enough, to be fair, plus I wasn't going to rat George out anyway. All I could do now was apologise.
REMUS
I lead the drunk girl to office, keeping an ear out for Filch and Mrs Norris, just in case. I pulled up a seat for her to sit on, while I rested myself down on my chair on the other side of my desk. "I really am sorry, Sir. I meant no disrespect. It was just a game, we all said some questionable things." She seemed genuinely apologetic and I wasn't really angry at her for just having some fun, Merlin knows I had my fair bit when I was at Hogwarts. I smiled at her, reassuringly.
"You're not in trouble, Mercy." I told her as she sighed in relief and slumped a bit in her chair, obviously realising how upright she had been sitting. "However, it's not permitted to be consuming alcohol on a school night, past curfew. Multiple rules have been broken here." She opened her mouth to say something but I lifted my hand up, silencing her, "This time, I will not report you or take it further but please do not do it again. Or, at the very least, have the wit to cast a silencing spell so you don't get caught as easily. You were lucky it was me who heard you, I doubt Professor Snape would've been this generous. Now, in regards to the multiple times I have caught you saying some... interesting things about me-"
"Professor, I'm genuinely sorry." She interrupted me "I try not to lie so I won't tell you I don't think you're attractive but obviously I do know some of the things I said were inappropriate and too far to say the least. It won't happen again." I studied her face for a few seconds, again admiring the honesty I could never be brave enough to have, before nodding.
"Okay, then we shall forget about it and move on." She sighed in relief again and I continued looking at her. Her hair was messy and she had a bit of mascara smudged under her eye, no doubt the alcohols fault, but she still looked... beautiful. Her eyes glinted in the light of my office so much, I could've sworn they were sparkling, and the echo of her previous laugh was still in her face. "Now, I would suggest you get back to bed now. I shall escort you back." She smiled at me, gratefully and I seemed to get lost in her smile a bit. Averting my eyes from her face, confused about why I found her, a student, so mesmerising, I got up and opened the door, allowing her out first, just like I had done on the train the first time we met.
